Hallway and General Layout
Entry to the apartment is from the main street and accessed via 4 steps up to the front door. The entrance is shared with the residents of 2 other apartments, so once inside the main front door, there is a pleasant shared hallway leading to the door to Barbican View, where there is one step at the entrance. Once in the apartment, there is a spacious inner hall leading directly to the kitchen, which is open through to the lounge and dining area. The apartment mostly on one level once inside, making it appealing for less mobile guests, however it should be noted that the bathroom is accessed from the bedroom via a relatively narrow passageway with two steps.
Lounge/Dining Room
With period features, this room is spacious and comfortable with a large sash window overlooking the historic street below and giving an unrestricted view of the grand entrance to Alnwick Castle and The Barbican. The original cast iron fireplace provides an attractive, decorative period feature (not operational, there is full gas-fired central heating throughout). Large flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD. Hi-fi with MP3 docking station. A range of books, DVD's and music is provided for your relaxation. Large sofa and dining table for 2. Window seat. Free Wi-fi is available throughout the apartment. Kitchen
Well equipped kitchen with electric fan-assisted oven, electric hob, fridge with large freezer box, microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher.
There is washer/dryer in a separate utility area. along with an ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner.
There is a glazed door leading from the kitchen directly to the courtyard garden.
Bedroom
Good sized bedroom with the original stone inglenook fireplace as an interesting feature. Kingsize bed with luxurious pocket-sprung mattress, goose-down bedding and pillows (synthetic available upon request) and luxury organic cotton bedlinen. Luxury bathrobes and slippers are provided as well as plenty of fluffy white towels. There is a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, dressing table and chair, and a clock radio and hairdryer are also provided. A cot can be placed in this bedroom upon request.
Bathroom
Newly fitted luxury contemporary, spa-style bathroom with a white suite, comprising a whirlpool bath, large separate shower with dual showerhead, wash hand basin and WC.
Underfloor heating. Luxurious velour bathrobes and thick fluffy white towels are provided, along with complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries.
Courtyard Garden
See photograph at the top of this page. Rare for a property in the heart of a bustling town, Barbican View has a lovely, peaceful courtyard garden. Fully enclosed, it's planted with a variety of attractive leafy and flowering shrubs and has a soothing water feature.
Depending upon the season, it catches the sun from mid morning through to early evening, providing a lovely 'outdoor room' for breakfast or a relaxing evening drink after a day exploring.

Parking is available with a Resident's Permit (provided) in nearby Bailiffgate, approximately 50yds from the cottage, although how near cannot be guaranteed. You can however, load and unload your car directly at the door.
