We are delighted to feature Andrew Scott from Scott’s of Alnmouth in our luxury magazine, ‘Escape’. Spend 5 minutes with Andrew with our interview below then make sure you visit Scott’s of Alnmouth on your next visit to the area – you won’t be disappointed!
Name: Andrew Scott
Job Title: Owner
Business: Scott’s of Alnmouth
Describe your business in three words:
Coffee, food, home.
What does your day job bring?
Making mouth-watering scones, pasteis de nata, sandwiches, quiches, sausage rolls and more for our deli counter. We’ll tune the coffee machine, clean, prep merchandise, then deep clean and prep for the next day.
How do you escape?
We love getting our London fix. Walking the streets of Shoreditch really inspires you to think up some new ideas. We also love a day trip to Scotland.
Where do you take your visitors?
For food, we love The Potted Lobster, Box.Pizza, Thai Vibe Cafe and The Cookie Jar. Barter Books in Alnwick is also a must-visit when you’re in the area. A walk from Alnmouth to Craster, along the coastal path, is mesmerising. Afterward, stop by The Jolly Fisherman for lunch and have a pint at Alnmouth Golf Club on the way back.
Tell us something special about Scott’s of Alnmouth
We know how to get locally-caught Alnmouth fish and seafood, so just ask us! Crab, lobster, trout and salmon… it’s all fresher-than-fresh.
What does Northumberland mean to you?
Northumberland has such a strong sense of heritage. We have customers who come back year-in-year-out – sometimes several times a year. To many, it really does feel like a second home.
