Beautiful Warkworth beach with its dramatic dunes is a 15 minute walk (1 mile drive) away and the winding River Coquet, surrounding the village on 3 sides, with its abundance of wildlife, including seals, herons and swans. has wonderful walks alongside it, passing the magnificent, medieval Warkworth Castle, ancient St. Lawrence Church and the 14th C. Hermitage, carved from a rock face and accessible only by rowing boat.
