Northumberland is positively magical in the wintertime, so what better time to experience the magic than at Christmas or New Year?
We make a big effort to ensure that our luxury cottages are beautifully and tastefully decorated for the Christmas season with pretty and quirky decorations and wreaths on the front doors. Where space permits, decorated Christmas trees are provided, but in the smaller cottages where this isn't possible, there are still plenty of festive decorations.
"What a wonderful cottage. When we drove up and saw the Christmas tree there were lots of ooh's and ahh's and when we got inside it got even better. We have absolutely loved our holiday here and can honestly say that we don't want to leave! A huge thank you again and when we come back we'll definitely give you a call!"

The Christmas and New Year weeks quickly fill up so book early to avoid disappointment.
The shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs of Northumberland embrace the season with wonderful displays of decorations and a cheerily festive atmosphere. The towns and villages are extremely pretty after dark with lots of twinkling fairy lights laced from tree to tree and embellishing the historic buildings.
We particularly like to enjoy a walk along the beach or around the riverbanks and castles on a clear, crisp and sunny winter's day, followed by delicious home-made soup in a little cafe or traditional Northumbrian pub - mmmm!
"Had a wonderful 2 weeks in a very beautiful house ...... Had champagne on the beach on Christmas Eve. Newton by the Sea is where we saw our first seal ..... Walked for miles on Druridge Bay, at last we managed to tire the dogs out! The butcher's shop in Bamburgh is excellent, had a superb loin of pork for New Years Eve. The weather has been very kind to us ..... New Year's Day was fabulous weather, we walked almost to Alnmouth on the beach. Met some lovely people .... can't wait to come back."

We also have a cancellation list, so if you are looking for a smaller or larger cottage than those currently available, please call or email if you wish to be notified of any vacancies that might arrive. We also may have new cottages join our collection between now and then, so please provide a contact telephone number so we can contact you and also the size of your party.
The 'Shoulder' Weeks
The weeks before Christmas and after New Year are increasingly popular - perhaps because these are 'the calm before the storm' and 'needing to chill after it's over weeks! They also book up quickly so please bear that in mind if considering those times.
