"We've had a fantastic week at Coquet View. Although the website is good, it didn't convey just how fabulous the house is! Comfy beds, warm and cosy. Bert the dog loved his dog gift basket and it was very kind of Julie to bake a birthday cake and leave a card and pressie - so personal. Thanks so much, we will be back." The Gibbons, Oxford. March 2010

"We have stayed in many cottages in the UK and abroad but never as well equipped as Coquet View - you've truly thought of everything. We had a great time." Jackie and Michael, Manchester Jan 2010

"Thanks for letting us rent your beautiful cottage, we loved everything - the beds, the bed linen and the towels were SO soft. Coquet View had everything we needed and more "home from home". The whole cottage was very tastefully decorated for Christmas. We will certainly be recommending your cottages to friends." Paul, Trish, Simon, Sandra and Archie.

"We have stayed in rented cottages in our annual visits to Warkworth over the last 15 years and Coquet View stands out as by far the best. It's not just a beautiful old house in a fantastic location, with style and comfortable interior, but also so relaxing. We feel we have been here longer than just a few days, we don't want to leave. Many thanks Julie and Mark for your beautiful house and the thoughtful extras - we will return." Ann and David Verney, Ipswich

"What a lovely relaxing holiday. The facilities have been outstanding and we have wanted for nothing! The weather has been mostly good and we have enjoyed walking on the beautiful clear beaches. Thank you so much." The Burtons

"What an amazing place and cottage! We loved it all. The woodburner is amazing - yes we tried it in the middle of June. Everything was fantastic - we will be back". The Vennells, Masham.

"We have had a fantastic week and with the exception of one day the sun shone none stop. House amazing - would be hard to beat, everything thought of. There is so much to do but if you only venture out once it has to be to Bambrugh Castle - a must! A good walk around the village to find all the other Coquet Cottages is fun too. The Coach Inn, Lesbury is lovely for a quality pub grub. P.S. Cabosse in the village is a must!" The Tylor-Maxwell and Tylor families, Kingston-Upon-Thames.
"We have had a fantastic week and two days here, the weather has been great. Coquet View has been perfect, I don't think our dog's Barney and Buster want to go home as we have walked miles each day with them, come to think of it we don't want to go home either, must book another week soon. Thank you Julie and Mark for making our stay more special." Sue and Ian Taylor, Yorkshire.
"We always find it difficult with 2 dogs to get good accomodation, this was better than good, it was fantastic. What a beautiful house with great views, lovely garden, drinking a coffee sat in the sun! Weather was good, although a little bracing today. The beaches are to die for, and all dog friendly! Loved it, beautiful beaches, villages and towns and lovely people. Thank you Julie, a real credit to you! We will be back!" Louise and Dave.
"A truly remarkable cottage with lots of charming features. It surpassed our expectations. Our daughter described the house as similar to a 'maze'. We completed several walks from the book on the coffee table named, 'Walks with your children in Northumbria'. The Warkworth walk which skirts the village and finally finishes with the castle was lovely and with great views of the river and castle. Holy Island is worth a visit we visited the priory and enjoyed the views from the highest point behind the priory. Brilliant beaches at Bambrugh, Alnmouth and Warkworth. The walk from Craster to 'Dunstanburgh Castle' was great even though there was lots of other people completing the walk due to it being Bank Holiday. Rothbury Scenic Route road well worth the drive, 'pretty village' walk. Great Week." Lisa, Alan and Lillian, Derby.
" This has been a truly lovely visit! Coquet View is such a lovely house with a nice cosy feel. And the view is just amazing! We've enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you!" The Glinsman Family.
"Enjoyed a lovely short break at Coquet View. Thank you Julie for ensuring a truly memorable stay. The children loved the games and DVD's provided. During our stay we visited 'Woodhorn' museum. What a great insight into coal mining! Also this was a cheap activity for families, £2 to park the car and free admission." The Metcalfes.
" What another fab stay at Coquet View. We have always loved Warkworth and this time we brought some friends with us. They loved the village and the house too. The weather was was much better than predicted. Sunny wonderful walks. Alnmouth to Boulner. Sat on decks in 'sun' at The Fishy Boat Inn. Lovely! 'Such a fantastic house!' " Diane and Rob Sanderson, Sheffield.
" We have self catered for many years - in some expensive locations - but nothing compares to our week here. SIMPLY FABOULOUS. Everything that could be done to make our stay a wonderful experience was done - and more!!! We have been very cosy and comfortable and have nothing but praise for the service provided. The weather has been very good all week - an added bonus. Particularly enjoyed our trip to Rothbury, very pretty village. In the words of the late General McArthur - "WE WILL RETURN" - The dog was most impressed too! Anne and Alex.
"Coquet View far exceeded our expectations with its exceptional comfort and style. The weather for March has been very kind with sun and blue skies daily - no rain! We enjoyed the following places: - Bambrugh Beach was our favorite with its miles of beautiful clean sand. Our dogs were in seventh heaven. Cragside (Nature Trust) near Rothbury was both unusual and delightful. Alnwick Gardens was excellent but would be better during the summer months (no flowers out yet). Barter Books at Alnwick is recommended for a rainy day and avid readers. The walk along the headland from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle. A walk along the beach at Druridge Bay followed by a visit to Country Barns farmshop and cafe at Widdrington. For any quilters then a visit to Catrice Barn at Hemscott Hill Farm at Widdrington will enable you to add to your stash! Great week had by all - we'll be back." Lynn and Ron Sylvester, Edinburgh.
" What a fantastic home to spend your relaxing time in, the only thing missing was a butler. At this time of the year, there are limitations on where to visit, but the local people are helpful and friendly. We went out to see the seals, on a boat covered in ice, very refreshing! The tree house at Alnwick was open, what a fantastic place for the kids. Beamish is well worth the visit, the staff are really amusing, Geordie humour is wicked! We cannot praise this house enough, thanks." Jim, Doreen, Jack and Denise.
"We feel rather privileged to be the first family back in Coquet View after last September's floods. Sometimes photos and words exaggerate a place but at Coquet View the reality is even better! We've had a an absolute ball and another trip soon to Warkworth is a must. Julie, thank you to your team for everything - you have a lovely house but more importantly a lovely home. See you again soon I hope. Wendy, Jeremy, Sam, George plus of course, Hattie our black labrador, Cheshire.
"Had a very successful stay in this beautiful location. The house was very well equipped and comfortable. We would love to return. The Maynards & Wenningers family.
"This was our second visit to one of your cottages and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Excellent accommodation with lots of thoughtful extras. Despite the rest of the country being wet for the week, our stay was sunny and dry. Lots of beach walks plus Alnwick, Hadrian's Wall, the Cheviots and bird-watching." The Eldridges and Butlers family.
"This is our first visit to Coquet View and we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We have visited many of the places recommended by other guests in this book. Our favourite being Craster and the walk to the magnificent Dunstanburgh Castle. The town and its surroundings are beautiful. A trip to Warkworth Castle is worth doing, as its history and character are interesting. The views from the top are outstanding. The beaches are so dog friendly - I'm sure our dog, Maddie feels the same way! Thank you for a lovely week. The Young family (&Maddie).
"Excellent accommodation and lovely touches. Weather was good to us and we have visited lovely places. The favourite was Alnwick Castle for the children. We had tea at the 'Treehouse' (based at Alnwick Gardens) and it was enjoyed by all. We to return again and there is still lots to explore. P.S. The children loved the amount of toys and summerhouse." Duce family.

"We have been completely knocked out by beautiful Northumberland and could hardly believe that Budle Bay (North of Bamburgh) wasn't in the Caribbean! The house and garden have been a lovely and comfortable base and we so appreciate being able to bring our dogs to such upmarket accommodation! Thank you! P.S. Bistro 23 in Alnmouth is very nice for dinner with lovely food and nice atmosphere." David, Marysia, Nash, Karla & Aero.

"Where did the week go? Not a dull moment. Loved the Coquet View, homely, comfortable, sophisticated - all things to everyone including our three teenagers. Hoped to spend lots of time on the beach but weather a bit wet! Rediscovered Alnwick and the fab gardens. Had supper in the Treehouse, great fun. Hired bikes from Pedal Power in Amble, very helpful owner - best to book in advance. The sun came out for an afternoon, so dashed to Alnmouth for a spot of paddling and games on the beach. Discovered a wonderful Northumbrian Pipe maker at Longframlington, who gave us an introductory talk and lesson on playing the pipes - not as easy as it looks. Cragside is a must. Berwick-on-Tweed also and we had a great day in Edinburgh - expensive shopping spree with three teenagers but majestic city, well worth the 2 hour drive. Hope to be back soon! " Bloomfield family, Suffolk.
"Our first visit to Coquet View! A fabulous, 5 star holiday home - exceeding all our expectations. We enjoyed 6 days of coastal walks with our dogs, Ralph & Chad, and even spotted a dolphin off the coast at Craster and a seal swimming past the house in the beautiful river Coquet! Thank you so much - we hope its not too long before we can return!" Steve, Lucy, Di, Dave, Ralph & Chad, East Yorkshire. .
"Everything about Coquet View was first rate. We have stayed in 5 star accommodation in Northumberland before but this was the best by far. We got great weather and travelled to wonderful locations. The kids loved Alnwick Gardens with the new kids' water area where they can get really wet and have lots of fun. We also visited Cragside, Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses and lots of other great places. 'The Mason Arms' in Warkworth served excellent food as did the 'Red Bull' in Alnmouth." The Turners family, East Yorkshire.
"Lovely two weeks, weather good overall. A wonderful cottage, luxurious and homely. First visit to this area and 'WOW' what a place! Loved the beaches and unspoilt scenery. As well as well known places, I would recommend the Upper Coquet Dale and Ingram Valley - both beautiful and wild. Farne Islands were a great experience and we visited twice and loved seeing the puffins and seals. Would love to come back one day as everyone is so friendly." Andy, Karen, Madge, Arthur and dogs: Hector & Humble, Devon.
"First visit to Coquet View. Well equipped and furnished and keeping to the standards found on previous visits to your other cottages. Fantastic range of toys for children and books, etc., for the adults. Good food and drinks in local pubs, ie., Mason's Arms & Hermitage. Great centre for visiting local towns and villages. Sure to be back for out 6th visit." Holmes family, Bristol.
"A beautiful cottage, very tastefully furnished throughout. The dressing up box and all the toys were a big hit with Isabel! Alnwick Gardens are definately worth a visit - if you have children a change of clothing is advisable (or two!). The walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle is particularly scenic. We have had a very enjoyable holiday and would definately recommend Coquet View to our friends." David, Helen & Isabel.
"Wonderful weather and wonderful Warkworth and surrounding area. We have had busy week celebrating a 100th birthday with friend and we are now exhausted. Thank you for the use of your beautiful house."
"We've had a great week at Coquet View. The house is exceptionally well equipped and well furnished and in such a lovely location. The children have so enjoyed playing with all the toys and dressing up and we have all been able to relax and recharge. The babysitting service is a real plus and we enjoyed a very nice meal at Blackmore's in Alnwick and a friendly welcome and 'good pub grub' at the Mason's Arms in the village. We've had a great time walking along the coast and spending time on the beaches and after a week of waiting for the sea to calm down, finally got out to the Farne's on our last day. It was a absolute delight to see all the nesting birds on the cliffs and in the water and the puffins are fantastic. Plenty of seals too. All in all, a great week and big thanks to Julie and her team for providing us with such a fantastic place to stay." The West family, Kingston Upon Thames.
"Coquet View - quite simply the most luxurious and comfortable accommodation. Warkworth a lovely base. We've all become 'twitchers' this past week and loved watching the herons fish in the river. Very much enjoyed exploring the North East coast and will miss it greatly with its abundance of castles and spectacular coastline. Absolutely enchanting! A smashing week!" Ron, Judy, Michael and Julia.
"We've had a fantastic week. Coquet View provided such luxurious accommodation. We really enjoyed following three walks from the book, 'Northumbria Walks with Children' (Warkworth, Holy Island and Bamburgh). Bamburgh beach is gorgeous. Millie and Arthur loved their daily walk (and swim) along Warkworth beach too. We can recommend the local bacon sold in Warkworth village store. The Treehouse restaurant was a lovely setting for a meal. Many thanks." Jayne, Andrew, Joe and Alice, and Millie and Arthur (the Old English Sheepdogs).
"Totally fallen in love with Coquet View - feels like home but with a much prettier view! Mark enjoyed all the birthday decorations and we both enjoyed the bubbly. Hoping to be back here very soon." Emma, Mark, Alice, Ben & Bertie.
