What's Included

All of our cottages are very well equipped and generally will contain everything you can reasonably expect to need for a self catering holiday, although if there is something specific you have a query about, please contact us to discuss. The webpages of our cottages generally describe what IS available at the cottage rather than what is not.

Bed Linen and Towels

All beds are made up for you with high quality bedlinen and a minimum of 2 towels per guest. Many of our duvets and pillows are goosedown, so if you have an allergy to feathers, please advise us and we can ensure synthetic bedding is provided instead.

Welcome Pack

A welcome pack will be provided for you to enable you to have some light refreshment upon arrival. Varying from cottage to cottage, but as a minimum you can expect the following:

Fresh Milk
Sachet selection of teas, coffees & sugar
Fruit juice for children
Biscuits
Complimentary toiletries for adult guests
Treats and bowls for dogs

At most of our cottages, you are likely to find a little more than this, as we do encourage our owners to offer guests their own combination of welcome pack items, rather than simply conforming to what all our other owners are offering. This means that some cottages will undoubtedly offer more than others, for instance; mineral water, newspapers, home baked cakes, etc., but we feel that this what makes them unique and individual and so encourage it.

Please note that the welcome pack is entirely complimentary and therefore does not form part of your holiday cost. You can choose whether you wish to consume or use the items offered or not, but no adjustment to your holiday cost is possible if you choose not to use the items offered.

Wireless Broadband Internet Access

Available in the majority of our cottages at no extra charge. Bring your Wi-Fi enabled laptop. If you need to connect using an ethernet cable please check with us first to ensure the router is accessible (as it's not in some cottages). If a password or key is required to access the service, it will be provided in the Guest Information File in the cottage. Internet Access is offered subject to availability from the service provider, as we have no control if the service goes down. As such, we can not guarantee it will always be available. If this is an essential requirement to you whilst on holiday, please ensure you have an alternative internet access point identified (i.e. local wifi spot in a local cafe). Use this link to look for Wi-Fi Hotspots in the area you will be staying. Please note that you are not permitted to download large files such as films and your use of the internet is conditional upon it being used for legal purposes only.

Celebrating Something Special?

We offer champagne, flowers, speciality chocolates and even beautifully decorated celebration cakes to help make your special occasion that little bit more special. Use the 'Additional Information' box on the order form to tell us what the celebration is and any choice of flowers, writing on cakes, etc. Choose your selection on the on-line booking form or contact us directly to arrange. We can also recommend local speciality caterers, who can offer anything from a ready-prepared meal waiting for you in the fridge to heat and serve, through to a full blown dinner party. Baby Equipment

At most of our cottages, we have cots, highchairs and stairgates available free of charge. Just choose what you require via the online booking form. In addition, at some cottages, there is extra equipment available, such as pushchairs, bottle sterilisers, baby monitors, baby back carriers, cot bedding, toddler steps and potties. Use the online booking form to select what is available at the cottage you are booking and call or email us to request anything specific you may require to make your holiday - or your packing at least - easier.

Babysitting Service

Our senior housekeeper independently from Coquet Cottages provides a babysitting service and is fully CRB checked. We can put you in touch with her to arrange babysitting directly. We encourange you to meet beforehand and payment is made direct to her at £8 per hour or part thereof.

Additional Folding Beds for Children

At some of our properties, where it's possible to do so, we can offer an additional folding 'Z-Bed' for a child of 12 years old or younger for an additional cost of 8% of the total accommodation cost. There may be limitations on which bedroom it can be placed in, so please contact us to check if this is important. The bed will be fully made up and towels provided for the child. Please note, however, that in most properties, the number of dining places and seating in the lounges corresponds to the number of permanent beds in the property, so this should be taken in account (i.e. you may not all be able to dine together at once). Please call or email for clarification if needed.

Children's Dressing-up Trunks

At some of our cottages, a children's dressing-up trunk is available upon request, which contains a range of outfits and accessories suitable for smaller children. Please request on your online booking form where prompted. If this option is not included in the online booking form, it is not available at that particular cottage.

Dog Sitting Service

We do not allow dogs to be left unattended in our cottages, so if you wish to visit somewhere where dogs are not welcome, such as a country house, a restaurant or go on a boat trip, we can put you in touch with one of our housekeepers (experienced dog owners themselves) who offer a dog-sitting service independently from Coquet Cottages. You will contact them directly to arrange this. Their charge is £8 per hour or part thereof (pay the sitter direct). Alternatively, we can provide details of 'Doggy Day Care' in the area. One option is a local lady who has run a day care facility for many years where she will only take one dog at a time, and the other option is a local kennel where they specialise in providing excellent quality day care for pets and grooming services too.

Dog Beds

At many of our cottages we have a range of luxury dog beds available to hire at £10 each per booking. The size provided will be appropriate for your breed/size of dog, which you will be asked about when you complete the online booking form. The bed will come with a fleece blanket and a dog towel. Virginia Cottage will always provide a dog bed for no charge.
