"Just to say had a fantastic week, the cottage is perfect. It was wonderful to find such a gem, we have truly enjoyed it all. Warkworth is a delightful village with good facilities and an ideal base for exploring. In truth we have done all the days out listed on the website and more! The setting is beautiful beside the river, so peaceful and calming. We have slept like babies. We have been blessed with glorious weather and didn't want the week to end. We found the village store had everything we wanted (and forgotten) and we were made welcome at The Hermitage Inn, sampling some great food. We tried cakes from Cabosse and Topsy Turvey's but were unable to find a winner, so will have to come again. Anything we would change? Our names on the deeds. "First of all we were absolutely blown away by the beautiful location. We saw a heron on our first day and a graceful pair of swans glided past as we walked the dog along the riverside. Really delighted with the cottage, all of the 'little extras' make such a difference and the wine and biscuits went down a treat! The high standard and quality of furniture, bedding, towels, etc. was exceptional. We've had a wonderful week here, Warkworth beach is beautiful, the pubs and restaurants very good, the Sun Hotel is good value for money and Topsy Turvey is great for lunch. "Never having stayed in a self-catering cottage before, we were not quite sure what to expect, but this surpassed our expectations. The welcoming pack was brilliant and we really enjoyed the wine. The cottage was so cosy, we spent more evenings in than we expected. We did enjoy a good meal at No. 16 Bistro and coffee and scones at the hotel after a long walk. Thoroughly enjoyed the week!" "We've had such a great holiday in Warkworth. This was our son's first seaside holiday and he's enjoyed every minute - especially waking up to see the ducks and swans and sheep over the river, The cottage was lovely, very cosy and homely.
