A Contemporary Coastal Retreat
River View is a fabulous coastal retreat situated on the fringe of the charming fishing port of Amble and overlooking picturesque Amble Marina and Coquet Estuary. Architect designed and award-winning, the house is part of a small exclusive group of eco-friendly contemporary properties which have very much a coastal feel to them. The house is very spacious and light throughout, with large windows and beautiful views overlooking the yacht marina and Coquet Estuary.
The beautiful and historic village of Warkworth, with its delightful selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes, French patisserie, quirky shops and a renowned art gallery is just one mile away. The walk to Warkworth alongside the picturesque Coquet Estuary with views of majestic Warkworth Castle is very pleasant with lots of wildlife to be seen including deer, a wide range of seabirds, herons, otters and even seals at high tide.
Adjacent to River View is an interesting yacht marina, fronted with a historic grassed area known as ‘The Braid’, perfect for dogs to let off steam around. The historic Amble Quayside is just a few minutes’ walk away from River View, where there is a lovely ‘Harbour Village’ shopping and dining area comprising a collection of boutique style pop-up shops leading down to the seafront with a thriving weekend market.
There are pubs and some very popular restaurants within a few minutes walk, including Zecca, an Italian seafood/pizza restaurant, rustic seafood restaurant ‘The Old Boathouse’ on the quayside and the “Sea and Soil” bistro. There are a selection of everyday shops – including an excellent local butcher and baker – and small supermarkets. There is a small beach within a couple of minute’s walk, with larger beaches within a few minute’s drive.“We’d like to say a big thank you for a wonderful break. The house is superb, wonderfully spacious, clean and so well equipped. We know we can bring less next time. Lovely location too. The cake and flowers a lovely touch. We shall return.” The Andrews family
