Luxury Country Cottage in Northumberland National Park
We're delighted this gorgeous and beautifully renovated luxury holiday home has joined our collection and it's fast becoming one of our most popular cottages. Situated in the charming village of Harbottle, it sleeps up to 6 people and is the perfect cottage for couples or a family. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard with great attention to detail, this beautiful cottage is in the heart of Northumberland's National Park, near Rothbury. Ground floor
Lounge
Large and comfortable living room with wood-burning stove. Dining table for 4 (this in addition to a large dining room seating 6). Large flatscreen digital TV with DVD player. MP3/iPod player. Free Wi-Fi broadband internet access throughout the cottage.


Kitchen
Well equipped, bright and airy kitchen with glazed door to the patio area and garden. Stainless steel electric range cooker with gas hob, Large fridge and separate freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Full-size dishwasher. Several steps down to a large dining room.

Laundry/Boot Room & Ground Floor Cloakroom
A very useful and spacious room easily accessible directly from a secondary doorway situated at the front of the cottage, and then leading through to the lounge. This room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. It's also a good place for muddy boots. This room is perfect for dogs to sleep in as it's warm whilst being separate from the main living areas. There is a cloakroom with toilet and wash hand basin leading off from the laundry room.
Dining Room
The main entrance to the cottage is via a pretty porch which opens into the dining room. This gorgeous room is a few steps down from the kitchen and provides a fabulous room for socialising over a meal or drinks. It opens out via double French windows onto a large wooden veranda which leads down to a lawned garden and furnished patio area. As a south-facing room, it's bright during the day and atmospheric in the evening. The dining table is large and comfortably seats 6. In the warmer months, the French windows can be fully opened, providing a wonderful open space, blurring the boundary between the garden and dining area.

First Floor
Master Bedroom
A serene and spacious room, it has a luxury kingsize bed with top quality bed linen, wardrobe and chest. Can easily accommodate a cot, which is available upon request.

Bedroom 2 - Double - with luxury en-suite bathroom
Another good-sized room, with a double bed and the benefit of a luxury en-suite bathroom containing a beautiful free-standing bath, WC and wash-hand basin.


Bedroom 3 - Double
A pretty and very spacious double bedroom with windows to two elevations overlooking the gardens. There is a beautiful south-facing view of the garden and the hills of the Cheviots beyond.

Family Bathroom
Bright and spacious 'house bathroom' with a deep plunge bath, WC, wash hand basin and walk in shower.

Outside
To the side of the house, accessed by a large gate, is a driveway large enough for 2 cars, with further parking available on the roadside adjacent to the cottage. The lawned garden is attractive and has a good sized stone flagged patio area furnished with a table, chairs and parasol in summer. The garden is south facing and although bordered with mature trees, providing privacy, still manages to be filled with sunlight.
The veranda, leading from the dining room, provides a lovely space for sitting out on balmy summer evenings.

Where exactly is Tapestry Cottage?
Tapestry Cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Harbottle, which is in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There is a pub within 100 yards of the cottage and the nearest large village is Rothbury, which is around 8 miles from Harbottle. Rothbury is a thriving village, with a good range of specialist food shops, including an award winning butchers, a wine store, locally renowned bakery and greengrocers, as well as a well stocked small supermarket, gift shops and art galleries. For eating out, there are several restaurants, tea rooms and pubs.

Please Note
Tapestry Cottage has full central heating and is very well insulated, warm and cosy. The log burning stove is provided for ambience rather than the main source of heating in the cottage. A basket of logs is provided between October and April only. If you require further supplies, they can be purchased locally.
The Kudu head, shown below, is a major feature in the stairwell of the cottage and much admired. However, if you are uncomfortable with it, it can be removed upon request with a minimum of 1 week's notice.
