Here are some of the comments kindly left in our visitors' book in Victoria Cottage:

"We really enjoyed the cottage. We enjoyed Wallington Garden immensely and Warkworth Castle with its audio tour a real find, as was Alnwick Castle too - the treasures are stupendous. We enjoyed coffee at the chocolate shop, Cabosse several times. Bird watching was a pleasure and we had 2 deer one night outside the cottage with 7 swans aswimming one morning. Lovely cottage. Thank you." Mr and Mrs Jones, Wales, April 2010

"Didn't bring a dog but brought 4 children instead. Really liked Victoria Cottage, the location and the village of Warkworth. Have been coming to Northumberland as a man and boy for over 50 years and never tire of this beautiful corner of the globe. Revisited my favourite beach, Embleton and took a train to Edinburgh to explore the 'Athens of the North", it was only an hour on the train from Alnmouth station, just 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is splendidly equipped and beautifully warm, loved the bright airy kitchen and roomy bathroom. A real winner. Thanks for the recommendation from our friends. Will need to bring a dog next time I think." The Sharkey family, Staffs. April 2010.

"Really cool cottage, rooms really nice and beds comfortable. Embleton beach is really nice." Kitty Sharkey, aged 9.

"Everyone enjoyed the cottage and location. The beach is superb and the area beautiful. Comfy beds for a great night's sleep too. We will be back!" The Wood family, Cheshire. April 2010

"Fantastic holiday. Great Accommodation - love the attention to detail. Beautiful village - recommend the pubs. Northumberland has got stunning scenery, even if the weather isn't perfect, don't let that stop you getting out and about - so many beaches, so little time! We will definitely be back." Mike, Julie and Holly. March 2010

"Had a very enjoyable stay in a lovely cottage. Thank you for the flowers and treats. Great setting and very well equipped. Warkworth is a pretty village near a super beach. Everyone we've met really friendly. We've had some nice meals out and the dogs were more than welcome in most of the pubs. Had some lovely days out." The Godfrey family, Nantwich. March 2010

"Spent a great fews days in what is a superb cottage - a real home from home - more than comfy, more than fully equipped and more than ideally situated! Warkworth is a fantastic little village - very picturesque and a dog walker's paradise around and about. Castle, river and beach all very scenic and the Hermitage Inn well worth eating at. Great trips out to Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick. Thanks very much, will definitely recommend." The Warings, March 2010

"Really cosy cottage with excellent beds - we all slept very well!", Mrs Storrie, March 2010

"We have had a fabulous, restful, idyllic week. Victoria Cottage has been all we expected and is probably the best cottage we have ever rented. The location by the river is peaceful with lovely views and the short walk to the beach is ideal. We will definitely be back! Many thanks". Mrs Chris Stephens, Staffs. Feb 2010

"We confirm everything said about the cottage is superb. We thought the extra touches were wonderful. Who would provide a large chest of clothes for the children to dress up in? Thanks for the welcome, thanks for everything." Duncan Crawford Knutsford Cheshire. Feb 2010

"Our week in the beautiful, snowy scenery has been lovely and very relaxing. We've really enjoyed long walks on the beach with the dog and have been lucky enough to watch a seal! The cottage has met every expectation and we did not want for anything. The extra touches such as flowers, wine and dog treats were a lovely surprise. If you're a foodie, we would recommend 'Zecca' in Amble - without doubt the best meal out we've had." James Banks York. Jan 2010

"Beautiful cottage with everything we needed and more - you have thought of everything. Our daughter loved the dressing up clothes. All the extra touches were a nice thought. Plenty to do and see. Enjoyed our stay in a lovely cottage and surroundings. Warkworth is a lovely village with nice gift shops. Thank you." Richard, Joanna and Eva, Herts. Dec 2009

"This our second visit to Victoria Cottage in a few months. The weather was different this time but what is the same is how beautiful Northumberland is! I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable in any place I’ve been. Our children love this place, the cottage is fantastic and the toy box is everything a little girl dreams of. Thanks again for a truly lovely holiday and thanks to Julie for the info on where to find Santa in Northumberland. We've seen him at both Alnwick and the mining museum today - he get's around! Thank you from all of us." the Warman family, Doncaster. Dec 2009

"Beautiful cottage – quality through and through. Perfect location with everything that we could need and more. Thank you for everything – flowers, wine welcome pack, luxury toiletries – al special touches much appreciated by all." Mrs Howard. Nov 2009

"Lovely cottage - very warm and comfortable. Warkworth pretty, very friendly and dogs welcome in the pubs. Beach beautiful and weather kind but cold. A very pleasant stay, thank you." Denise, Helen and family, York. November 2009

"Beautiful cottage - quality through and through! Perfect location. Everything that we could possibly need and more. We have had a lovely 4 days, wish we could stay longer - maybe next time! Thank you for everything, all the special touches were very much appreciated by all. We will certainly recommend Coquet Cottages to everyone." The Howard family, Cheshire. November 2009

"Beautiful cottage, with everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The position couldn’t be better with the river, beach, walks and village close by." Mrs Ferguson Australia. Nov 2009

"Blazes - the blue sky and sunshine here is as nice as it is in Australia - but comes without the heat and the blowflies. Stunning countryside, friendly, chatty people everywhere, people here actually say "hello" to each other and wish a "good morning". How nice after coming from our insular, isolated city of Perth. After 53 years of sunburn I fell that I could definitely come here to live - and at least replace one of the Poms who has fled to Australia! Thankfully I have managed to take an hour of video to show the Aussies just how beautiful your country is. Anyone want to swop?" Mr Ferguson, Perth, Western Australia. November 2009

"Lovely warm, cosy cottage. The dog has loved the beach every day. We've had a great holiday and think we've finally exhausted our exuberant 19mth old dog. We'll definitely be back, thanks for everything." Victoria, Neil and Bess, Glasgow. November 2009

"Many thanks for the loan of a very comfy cottage. I'm sure we will be back!" The Sowerby's and the Hammond's October 2009

"Had a great short break at Victoria Cottage (our second in Warkworth this year!). Accommodation fantastic. We spent time at Alnwick Garden and had an excellent lunch at The Treehouse (you need to book). New restaurant in Amble, Zecca, was a great find. We will certainly recommend Coquet Cottages to our friends." The Smith, Edinburgh. October 2009

"Thank you from all of us for a very comfortable and clean cottage. From start to finish Julie's professionalism has shone through - from the little touches of flowers, wine, etc. to the very informative and easy to navigate website. Particularly enjoyed the location of Victoria Cottage with the nearness of the beach a bonus." Jacqueline, October 2009

"What a wonderful, spacious cottage, tastefuly finished and comfortable. The outlook both front and rear is tremendous, one could sit by the river, read and do nothing the whole time, weather permitting! There's so much to see, would need weeks to fit it all in. We will be back." June and Vaughan, Wrexham. October 2009

"We came with high expectations of Victoria Cottage and we have not been disappointed. The weather has been kind to us and we've enjoyed exploring this glorious coastline. It's been our labradoodle's first taste of running on a beach - what fun! Warkworth is charming and so is Victoria Cottage. Thank you for all the thought you've put into it." Andrea, Barry, Walter and Dylan, Nantwich. Sept 2009

"Visited Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, had Craster Kippers at the Ship Inn at Seahouses. Our favourite day was visiting Lindisfarne Island, had super weather. Victoria Cottage was comfortable and had everything we could need to make our stay enjoyable." Alistair and Val, Nottingham. Sept 2009

" We have all had a brillient time. Victoria Cottage is immaculate and Dexter the dog particularly liked being able to look out of the windows and watch life go by! Beaches were fantastic and great golf at Alnmouth (Foxton Hall). Also had lovely lunch at The Hermitage in Warkworth. Would strongly recommend a visit to this part of Northumberland and we will hopefully be back! Thank you for the lovely welcome basket - all very much appreciated." The Fraser Clan, Sept 2009

"We have had a great weekend here in this first class cottage. This has been our first taste of the Northumbrian Coast and we shall certainly be back for more. Craster kippers for breakfast today has topped it off (we had the windows open!). The weather has been kind every day despite the forecast and we have been to the beach every day. Crossed the causeway to Holy Island safely to see the Viking encampment at the Priory. Thanks for everything, see you again sooner rather than later." Waudby, Tetley and Devlin families, Leeds, August 2009

"We have had an excellent week here; the cottage itself is very comfortable and well-appointed. Warkworth itself has been a delight, as have other places in the area which we've visited. We have been fortunate with the weather and this has enabled some visits to splendid beaches and - for the more adventurous - some swimming in the North Sea. All in all a super time." Mandy and Alan, August 2009

"Thank you very much for a really enjoyable fortnight. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, we were delighted with all the toys, books, etc. left for our entertainment. The box of toys were really appreciated and Ellie really enjoyed them - most of all the dressing up clothes! Victoria Cottage has all the essentials needed and lovely neighbours too. We had some great days out, including horse riding in Alnwick, Warkworth Castle, Whitehouse Farm and great boat trips up the River Coquet. A truly wonderful holiday that will always be remembered. Once again, thank you!" The Swan family, Middlesbrough. August 2009

"We have had a really great week and have been blessed with good weather. Our children have enjoyed the beach, both in Warkworth and Alnmouth and we had a super time at Alnwick Gardens and the Castle. Catching tiddlers in the river with our little fishing nets was great fun! In fact we haven't had enough time in a week to do half the things we wanted to - so obviously we will have to return. Thank you for a great house, everything we could need." The Findlay family, Nottingham, August 2009

"Thank you for a lovely week - we are convinced Warkworth has its own micro-climate - have managed the beach every day! The Mason's Arms was great for serving hot food quickly - a must for the children! Warkworth Castle is fantastic and for those less cultured moments, Funworld at Amble gave our boys the necessary 'fix'! The Poison Garden at Alnwick Garden was great (children seemed to be taking notes?!) and pain au chocolate from the local patisserie, Cabosse, are a must! Thank you." The Lyons family, July 2009

"Thank you for a lovely 5 day break. The weather has been great and the cottage has provided us with everything we needed. We can certainly recommend The Jackdaw in the high street - outstanding food and a friendly environment. Also the Cook and Barker. The dogs have loved their run across the sands at 7:30 every morning. I'm sure we will be back soon!" Joanne, Pat and John.

"Thank you very much for a lovely week, the house is brilliant with everything you need. The village is beautiful and the people are very friendly. We can really recommend Alnwick Castle and Gardens, our 4 yr old son loved the tractors at the base of the fountains (bring dry clothes for children!). Warkworth Castle is really interesting as well." Graeme, Debbie and Murray, Aberdeen.

"Just to thank you for a truly magical holiday. Northumberland is a beautiful place for young, old, families 'everyone'. Victoria Cottage was a fantastic home from home where I felt totally relaxed. We went to Warkworth Castle most nights, along the river for walks and went to Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Holy Island. The best part was the beautiful unspoilt beaches.... who needs to go abroad?! The Coach Inn at Lesbury was lovely.. food was outstanding and were made very welcome with young children. Thank you, my little girl Jenny aged 4 doesn't want to go anywhere; she just wants to stay at the house with the big basket of toys. The flowers and welcome pack made it very homely. I'll definitely recommend to family, friends and work colleagues. I've totally fallen in love with Northumberland and if I'm lucky enough I'd love to live here, I came as a child and it's everything I remember and more. Well done... everything I wanted, needed and more. As Arnie says "I'll be back!" Carlene, Graeme and family, Doncaster, July 2009
