Our visitors' books are great to read through over a cup of coffee or glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, for example, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitor's book in Virginia Cottage.

"Our third stay in Warkworth and we have been sooo lucky with the weather, it's been exceptionally good. Lovely walks and beaches. The cottage has been really cosy and felt like a home from home. If you have a dog and fancy an excursion to the city, then we can recommend lunch at Mal Maison on the quayside in Newcastle, where they allow dogs in the first floor restaurant overlooking the quayside opposite the Baltic and Sage. "We had a lovely week in this beautiful comfortable cottage. The Mason's Arms in the village is a very welcoming pub with excellent food and a good quiz on Tuesday nights! Had a lovely walk on the beach at Alnmouth and explored the north shore of Lindisfarne - saw plenty of seals! Would also recommend rowing up the river for nice views. A great week!" “We were really pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings given it as a "dog friendly" cottage. We normally choose 5 star cottages and have no dog so this was up to those standards. It was so comfortable and had everything we needed to have a great holiday.”
