Waterside is a very special holiday home in an enviable location directly fronting onto the River Coquet, with fabulous river views from one side of the house - particularly from the pretty patio garden - and with views of Warkworth Castle from all rooms on the other side. Sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms, plus up to 2 cots and highchairs, if required. Sorry, no pets permitted at Waterside.
Waterside caters particularly well for children, with a variety of baby equipment available upon request including 2 cots, 2 highchairs, stairgates, sterilisers, baby seats and a pushchair. There are toys for older children too, including the use of a PlayStation 2 games console with several games, digital TV channels, DVD's and board games. They will particularly enjoy spotting the local wildlife from the patio garden. The beach is a short walk away and the magnificent castle - which is perfect for children to explore and run around in - is just yards from the cottage.
The location of Waterside makes it a special place, but the interior is also stunning, with furnishings and fittings brought together with thoughtfulness and panache, creating a unique, contemporary styled home.
Ground Floor:
Hall with cloakroom/wc, spacious open plan kitchen with dining table and a small lounge area. The lounge area has a digital TV with Freeview channels. The kitchen is extensively equipped with electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A freezer is located in the attached garage, which can also be used for secure cycle storage. A glazed door leads out to a pretty patio garden, beautifully planted with an apple tree, herbs and fragrant shrubs and furnished with a table and chairs, parasol and a built-in BBQ. The garden provides fabulous views of the River Coquet and the distant yachts in Amble Marina.
First Floor
Lounge
The living room is located on the first floor to take advantage of the far reaching views and is furnished in a stylish, contemporary style with a leather corner suite, TV with digital channels and DVD player. It enjoys lovely views of the river and binoculars are provided to enable the wildlife to be viewed. Seals can often be spotted in the river at high-tide and the countryside opposite is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) Deer can often be seen there. A bird reference book is provided to aid identification of the migrant and local birds.
Bedroom 2
Twin bedroom with full size single beds, which can be converted to a superkingsize double bed upon request for a small additional charge, double wardrobe and drawers. Warkworth Castle can be seen from this room.
Bedroom 3
A pretty room with a full size single bed, wardroom and drawers. Fabulous river view from the picture window.
Second Floor
Master Bedroom/Bedroom 1
Spacious master bedroom. Kingsize leather bed with luxury mattress, flat screen TV with digital channels, small Hi-fi with CD's, built in wardrobes and drawers. There are dormer windows to both front and rear elevations, where the castle can be seen from the front and the Coquet Estuary stretching down towards Amble from the rear.
Bathroom
Family bathroom with WC, hand basin, bath and separate shower cubicle. Velux window with a lovely view of the castle.
'Chill-Out' Area
The large landing is ideal as a chill-out area for children with floor cushions, books and games. A children's 'Dressing Up Trunk' is available upon request. There's a spectacular view of the river from the window.
