Set within a small complex of converted farm buildings, this stunning barn conversion perfect for families and groups offers a tranquil escape just 3 miles from Alnwick’s iconic castle and gardens. Surrounded by rolling farmland, guests can enjoy rambles from their door, while the shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions of Alnwick are within easy reach. Northumberland’s dramatic coastline starts around 5 miles away; promising coastal strolls filled with wildlife and a string of castles including Dunstanburgh and Warkworth (within 9 miles). Head to the fishing village of Craster (4.5 miles) to potter around the harbour and try smoked kippers with the royal seal of approval.

Follow a pretty country path through the garden to arrive at the front porch, where you’ll find a handy WC and storage for coats and shoes. A door to your right leads into a light and spacious lounge with elegant, mismatched sofas, a wood burner set in a stone fireplace, and French doors leading to the front patio. When tummies rumble, take the second door on the right into an open-plan kitchen/diner with dual-aspect windows, a contemporary kitchen with a range-style oven and diner-style seating, ideal for sociable mealtimes. Stairs lead up to three soothing bedrooms, each with luxury linens and anti-allergy bedding. The master suite features a king-size bed, plush velvet sofa, Smart TV and an en-suite shower room, and there’s a pretty double with a Smart TV, and a cosy twin alongside the family bathroom.

Outside, a large and enclosed garden with a lawn, with an enclosed patio to the front offers the perfect spot for al fresco meals. Allocated parking is available for one car, with additional shared spaces throughout the complex.

The location is great for visiting Alnwick & is just a 10 minute drive to Northumberlands beautiful beaches & coastline. We had a fantastic stay at Apple Tree Barn with our Parents and 2 children. We make an annual trip to Northumberland for a family holiday and this has been our favourite accomodation to date. Apple Tree barn is welcoming, comfortable & located just outside Alnwick, & is within easy reach of the coast & beaches. The barn has everything needed, being spacious, well equipped & has a large enclosed garden & a summer house in which to enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset. We had a wonderful stay at Apple tree Barn. Really pleased with how clean and well presented it was. Felt like everything had been carefully thought of to make it comfortable. Lovely and spacious, but still homely and had everything we needed.
