Set on a quiet terraced street in the heart of Alnwick, this Georgian retreat is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to enjoy one of Northumberland’s most fascinating towns. Discover the magic of Alnwick Castle, celebrated in the Harry Potter films, and marvel at the unique poison garden, all within 0.5 miles. The town is rich in shops and eateries, including an acclaimed treehouse restaurant and the sprawling Barter Books. Enjoy beach strolls and birdwatching in Alnmouth (4.5 miles) and sample smoked kippers fit for royalty in Craster (7 miles).

This charming two-storey property balances period character with modern comforts. Step through the front door into a welcoming hall with a reclaimed staircase. To your left, the lounge has authentic charm with sash windows, a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace, and vintage-style furnishings along with a Smart TV. The dining room is on the opposite side of the hallway, with another inglenook fireplace, a round dining table, and a velvet sofa for after-dinner drinks. At the end of the hall, there’s a compact yet well-equipped kitchen with shaker-style cabinets, a large range cooker, and a door leading to the rear courtyard. Upstairs, three restful bedrooms invite a blissful slumber. Choose between a king-size with a wrought-iron bed, a super-king-size room with versatile zip-and-link beds, and a cosy snug that can be made up as a single bedroom. The stunning family bathroom, with its free-standing copper bathtub and walk-in shower, is to the rear of the first floor.

A small private patio to the rear with a bistro table and chairs offers a quiet spot to relax after a day’s adventures or to enjoy a morning coffee before heading into town. There’s no dedicated parking, but the road has no parking restrictions or permits in place.

Yet another superb stay at Bluebird House. Weve stayed many times before and remain impressed with the quality of the fixtures and fittings, as well as the homely feel this cottage gives us. Bluebird House is excellently placed for exploring the Northumberland Coast and is a real treat to return to at the end of a long day out - the bath being a hiRead moreghlight as ever. Both Coquet Cottages and Martin (property owner) provide excellent customer service and make you feel instantly at home. Thanks again for a great stay - we will be back! Hide

A very comfortable house which is well equipped and spacious. Particularly liked the bathroom and excellent shower and the comfy bed. The house is well located for exploring Alnwick on foot. Parking is a nuisance and we rarely managed to park near the house but it was a busy bank holiday weekend.
