Located in the heart of pretty Warkworth village, this welcoming holiday cottage makes a fun and flexible base for family adventures. Sleeping up to eight guests (six adults and two children) across four comfortable bedrooms – including a ground-floor en-suite that’s great for grandparents – it’s designed with togetherness in mind. Warkworth Castle is close by (0.5 miles), while the local beach (1.5 miles) has a handy car park behind the dunes. You’ll have village shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants within 0.5 miles. A scenic riverside walk (2 miles) leads to the vibrant fishing port of Amble, home to a lively marina, arty shops and award-winning seafood restaurants. Explore bohemian Alnmouth (5 miles) with its art galleries and coastal charm, or head to Alnwick (8 miles) for its world-famous castle, cascading gardens, impressive treehouse, bustling market square, and the famous book emporium inside a Victorian railway station.
Step up through the front door into a welcoming hallway with cloakroom and WC, or make use of the rear entrance straight into the kitchen if you’ve got muddy boots (or soggy paws in tow). The modern, open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for meal prep, plus an Echo Dot ready to follow your instructions. A dining table seats eight for lively family meals, while the breakfast bar provides a relaxed spot for perching with a morning coffee brewed in the Nespresso machine. The cosy lounge has three sofas, dual-aspect windows, a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect electric fire – perfect for film nights or board games. On the ground floor you’ll also find a handy WC and a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and private French doors to the veranda. Upstairs is a second king-size bedroom with a four-poster bed and en-suite shower room, plus a king-size bedroom with garden views. The fourth bedroom has bunk beds for children. There’s also a family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.
Outside, the west-facing garden is a real highlight, with a large, decked veranda, lawn and plenty of seating for relaxed evenings. Parking is on-street and subject to availability (please note that the village primary school is opposite).
