This boutique coastal cottage is located in the charming fishing village of Craster, placing families or groups of friends with the dogs in tow just 350 metres away from a chance to taste the world-famous Craster kippers. It sleeps up to six guests across three stylish bedrooms and boasts glorious sea views from almost every window. You’ll have a fabulous pub and restaurant just 350 metres away, where you can dine with sweeping ocean views, and the Northumberland Coastal Path runs only 150 metres from the door – excellent if you crave scenic walks. The harbour is an easy 500-metre stroll, with a locally renowned art gallery and a family-friendly play area a similar distance. For day trips, head to pretty Alnwick (7.5 miles), of Harry Potter fame, or the majestic village of Bamburgh (15.5 miles), known for its castle, sand dunes and pristine beach.

On arrival, step through the glazed front door into a welcoming entrance hallway, which leads to the sunroom, main hallway and beyond. The modern kitchen/diner is the heart of the home, with seating for six and a breakfast bar with two high stools. The adjoining kitchen has everything you need for cooking up feasts, plus French doors opening directly to the garden. The lounge is a relaxed coastal haven with a Smart TV, Netflix, DVD player and a corner sofa overlooking the garden – during the chillier months, you can spark up the wood burner to stay toasty. When your eyelids get heavy, retire upstairs to the sleeping quarters where you’ll find a spacious king-size bedroom with sea views and an en-suite shower room, another king-size room, and a pretty twin bedroom with side sea views. Completing the interior is a well-appointed family bathroom.

Outside, to the rear, is a landscaped garden with a furnished decked space perfect for al fresco meals, a children’s play area, and a summer house. Guests will also find a lawned garden to the front of the house, plus driveway parking for one car, and on-street parking subject to availability.

A well appointed property that provided us with all we needed on our family holiday. The property has been stylishly upgraded and well planned in particular the open plan kitchen diner and the high spec finish on the ensuite room. Spacious bedrooms were great. Quiet room to the front was lovely to relax in and gaze out to sea in a morning. PropertyRead more was well equipped and gave us all we could have wanted in a holiday home. The hamper was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Hide

We found Crabcake Cottage last year, and liked it because it was well set up for children, with toys, books and a swing in the back garden. Its also right by the play area in Craster. Excellent for a family holiday- so we came back in 2025

Good location, view and parking on drive. Well equipped and a lovely welcome basket. The Jolly Fisherman was worth a visit.

We have stayed at Crabcake many times and I cant really add much to our previous reviews. Suffice to say we rarely visit cottages more than a couple of times but this has become a home from home for our family. We love the location, the sea views and the pub in the village. Our granddaughter loves the play park and the rock pools. The cottage is waRead morerm, nicely decorated and furnished and is always spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden is ideal for our dogs. Danny is an excellent host and always responds to any queries immediately. Im sure we will be visiting again soon. Hide

Weve been holidaying in Northumberland for the last 10 years and not found a reason to stop yet. Always have at least one lunch at The Jolly Fisherman so decided to stay in Craster this time. Crabcake Cottage is in a great location, spotlessly clean and very thoughtfully equipped. Danny was very helpful, communication excellent and welcome hamper dRead moreelicious! Would definitely recommend a stay here. Hide
