Spend your days exploring Northumberland’s coastal gems including the majestic Bamburgh Castle (3.5 miles). If you have any Harry Potter fans in your party, Alnwick (14.5 miles) needs to be on your itinerary – the medieval castle there was used as a set for the films. Historic Holy Island (19.5 miles) and the wild beauty of Northumberland National Park (20 miles) are also bound to impress.

The beautifully finished kitchen has cream-painted units, granite worktops and every appliance you could need – from a Nespresso coffee machine to a handy wine cooler. Cook with music playing through the built-in ceiling speakers, or catch up on a favourite show on the kitchen’s Smart TV while you prep. The dining area, complete with a breakfast bar and seating for six, is all ready for sociable mealtimes. The lounge is warm and welcoming with plenty of comfy seating, a flame-effect electric fire, Smart TV with Netflix, and a great selection of books, there is also a comfortable second lounge downstairs with a further smart TV and PlayStation ideal for a multigenerational holiday. A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is perfect for storing outdoor gear after a day on the coast – and there’s a downstairs shower room for convenience. Upstairs are three elegant bedrooms: a spacious super-king-size with an en-suite shower room and generous storage, a second room with a king-size bed, and a front-facing twin. Completing the interior is a well-appointed family bathroom.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cuthberts cottage. The house is exactly as described on the website and everything is pristine from the decor to the towels and fully equipped kitchen. It is an excellent base for seeing local highlights ( we visited Inner Farne Islands to see nesting puffins but also Lindisfarne and Dunstanburgh Castle). This is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at (and that's going back to 1972!). The condition of the cottage and the level of cleanliness was superb. Equipment-wise we wanted for nothing. Comfortable, extra-large beds and beautiful bathrooms with power showers. The location was excellent. We could walk into Seahouses (15-20 mins) and acceRead moress restaurants and the boat trips. We went on the Billy Shiel trip which allowed a landing on Inner Farne - a magical place with thousands of Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes and lots of Grey Seals on the trip out before we landed. Alli in all a wonderful experience which we intend repeating. Hide

I almost don't want to leave this review, because I don't want you to know about this perfect property. But that would be unfair to the hosts, Rob and Gemma, who have so clearly thought about how to present the property and how to make guests want to come back again and again. There was nothing the property didn't have and with 6 adults making fullRead more use of facilities we tested it all out. The location was only a 10 minute walk to Seahouses. You can take the main road in of skip round the back lane and visit the cows and horses. Rob gave us all the insider information you could want, including parking in Bamburgh. The Northumberland coast is littered with breathtaking beaches and coastal walks. We love it and return frequently. Now, we have found the cottage to match the surroundings. Cuthbert Cottage is just like home, only better! Hide
