Peaceful nights and fun-filled days are what’s on offer at this Northumberland property, a destination for friends, families and their dogs to escape to, boasting a quality finish throughout. Set in the village of Acklington, it enjoys a great location close to a much-loved local pub. Just a short distance away you’ll also find a fan-favourite ice cream parlour, so set off to discover Morwick Dairy Ice Cream (1.5 miles) and discover the River Coquet as you go. A little further afield, the seaside town of Amble (4 miles) offers plenty of family-friendly appeal. Explore pastel beach huts, fish shacks and seafood eateries along its bustling port, or follow the pathway out of town and join the Northumberland Coast Path to reach further-flung destinations. The village of Warkworth (3 miles) is also well worth a visit, with its imposing medieval castle.

This detached house has been finished to an immaculate standard, designed in cool, modern tones with quality furnishings throughout. Enter into the spacious hallway before turning right into the kitchen/diner or left into the lounge. The kitchen/diner is perfect for mealtimes and after-dinner chatter, with a large dining table and patio doors leading out into the garden. The bespoke kitchen has been created with quality fixtures and up-to-date appliances, making cooking a pleasure. After dinner, settle into the lounge, a gorgeous, light-filled space with plump sofas, bi-fold doors onto the garden, a Smart TV with Netflix, a Bluetooth speaker and an Amazon Echo Dot, ensuring you can unwind in whichever way suits when night falls. Upstairs, a cinema room has been designed under the eaves, complete with an L-shaped sofa, projector, ambient lighting and a drinks fridge. Back downstairs, a ground-floor WC adds convenience, along with a utility room with garage access. Five bedrooms are positioned across the first and second floors, each with blackout blinds and soft linens for a restful night’s sleep. Fern House proved to be an ideal base for our stay in Northumberland. It was well equiped, very clean and nicely decorated. All the beds were very comfortable with decent pillows. The location is good for exploring Northumberland, close to Amble and Alnwick. My 6 year old Granddaughter really enjoyed watching films in the cinema room. The house was fantastic and the attention to detail was beautiful. The hosts Lisa and Richard were superb responsive and checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay.

A beautiful large house with every amenity . Furnished to a really high standard and very comfortable. Perfect for a large family or extended family get together. Close to Warkworth and Amble and other interesting towns and resorts. We loved the cinema room upstairs !

We look to rent a house each summer for all our family both in the UK and France to meet up. Two grand parents , two children and their partners, two grandchildren and Angus the dog descended on Acclington and Fern House for a seven day holiday. The house is a new build in a small estate of similar properties surrounded by the village and open farRead morem land. It is a beautiful property and located in a great position to visit local villages and towns. In addition the A1 is on head to go further North eg Bamburgh and Holy Island. Fern House is very well equipped and has a great family kitchen and lounge, together with large bedrooms and at the top of the house a cinema room. The owners are very amiable and phoned us on our way to the area to say the house was ready for occupation prior to the 4 pm deadline which was very nice . We had a fabulous week with a wonderful base being Fern House. Would recommend it to anyone. Hide
