Located in the seaside haven of Bamburgh on the Northumberland coast, this exceptional property welcomes four guests and one dog into wonderfully comfortable surroundings, complete with sea views from the cosy lounge. Bamburgh is a truly special holiday destination, home to an award-winning, family-run butchers, dog-friendly pubs and an imposing castle, which provides a dramatic backdrop to the idyllic Bamburgh Beach. These golden sands are perfect for sunbathing and ball games, or as the ideal starting point for a walk along the vast Northumberland Coast Path. Follow the path north to Seahouses (3.5 miles), where boats depart from the harbour for trips to the magnificent Farne Islands. Whether you admire them from the shoreline or embark on a thrilling sea safari, keep your eyes peeled for puffins, seals and dolphins playing in the choppy waters of the North Sea.

All set on one level, this step-free property forms part of a larger house that was once an impressive Georgian country retreat. Inside, the open-plan living space consists of the lounge, kitchen and dining area. Large, shuttered windows frame breathtaking sea views, while bespoke seating areas provide plenty of inviting nooks to curl up in. The kitchen is well-equipped with quality appliances and thoughtful extras, including that all-important coffee machine. In the lounge, soft seating is arranged around a wood burner, with a Smart TV (complete with BT Sport and Netflix), a Bluetooth speaker and a generous collection of books and games offering entertainment for every evening. As night falls, wander along the hallway to find two attractive bedrooms, both featuring soft, quality linens and a Smart TV. One boasts a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, the other a king-size. The master bedroom features an en-suite shower room with underfloor heating, while the second bedroom enjoys sole use of the family bathroom, also featuring underfloor heating.

From the living room, step through a glass-fronted door into the property’s shared garden. This pretty lawn area includes an enclosed section, a summerhouse with outdoor seating and a bench perfectly placed for soaking up the sea view. The property has two allocated private parking spaces.

We stayed with our young grandchildren at Grace Cottage and found it everything we could have hoped for. Close enough to the village amenities and beach but just far enough out to avoid the crowds. The Cottage was clean and well equiped for a comfortable and enjoyable week.

On arrival , the outside of the building and the driveway were clearly in need of attention. While we were there scaffolding and builders did arrive and some of the other apartments were receiving attention - perhaps No 3 (Grace cottage) was also on the list. Plus points - great location , good Wifi, off-road parking, good kitchen and big hot showeRead morer in the en-suite. The door entrance is a trip hazard. The second bedroom should be a single due to size. We had asked for the 2 singles to be joined into a super king but the only way into bed was to climb up from the bottom. Even as 2 singles there would be only a few inches between the beds. Might be fun for kids but not for oldies. The whole place feels unloved. Cushions in living room need replaced , upholstery needs cleaned and the apartment could do with being repainted. We were disappointed as we have trusted Coquet in the past and stayed in some lovely apartments. Bamburgh was a great location - spectacular beaches , great walks and a wonderful castle. We will return - but not to Grace Cottage. Hide

Grace Cottage is a very comfortable apartment an easy five minute walk from Bamburghs centre. Its beautifully decorated with quality bedding, furnishings and kitchen equipment. Generous welcome hamper.
