In Lesbury itself, you’ll find a traditional pub, a general store and a post office all within 0.5 miles. The nearest beach lies around 1.5 miles away, easily reached by following the river as it winds toward the sea.

The stone facade of this semi-detached cottage lends traditional charm, while its interiors combine modern design with homely comfort. We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage. It was very clean, had everything we needed and its in a great location. The welcome hamper and fridge items were a lovely surprise. The only thing that we would do different next time is to stay longer as 5 days wasnt long enough. It was a 5 minute drive to Alnmouth beach & golf course which was beauRead moretiful and a 10minute drive into Alnwick. There are plenty of lovely places to eat not too far away we would recommend The Whittling House in Alnmouth, the food and service was amazing. There are also lots of places to visit like the castles and gardens, unfortunately we didnt have time to get around everything so we will be planning another trip very soon. We had a lovely stay at Lilac Cottage and we would definitely recommend. Hide

Such lovely accommodation in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. The cottage was very attractive and had all good quality equipment in the kitchen. The shower was excellent. It was a lovely touch to receive a basket with supplies together with a bottle of wine. The only concern we have and wish to point out is that the door handles on all theRead more heavy wooden doors are badly situated. When closing the kitchen door my wife's little finger on her left hand got jammed and the tip of her finger was crushed and only now nine days later has it completely recovered. My son-in-law experienced a similar problem with the bathroom door though not as bad an injury as my wife's finger. I feel the owner of the cottage would be advised to remedy this as a child's hand would certainly have a more serious injury if caught in the door. However I have to point out that it was a beautiful cottage and our holiday was not marred with this. Hide
