Overlooking Embleton Dene with fabulous views from both the bedrooms and garden, this cosy cottage is the perfect base for exploring the striking scenery and endless attractions of the Northumberland Coast. Embleton’s shops, pubs and restaurants are all less than half a mile away, and a short stroll leads you to the pristine sands of Embleton Bay (1 mile). Framed by the dramatic silhouette of Dunstanburgh Castle (2 miles), this arc of golden beach is one of the true gems of the North East coastline. Golfers can admire the same views from the Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course, less than a mile from your doorstep. Follow the coastal path to reach the fishing village of Craster (3 miles), famed for its smoked kippers, gallery and picturesque harbour. A little further south lies Rumbling Kern (4 miles), a hidden former smugglers’ cove.

Inside, quirky design features and seaside-inspired artworks are seamlessly blended with exposed stone walls, wooden floorboards and original doors, creating a home full of character. The entrance hall is ideal for kicking off boots and storing walking gear before stepping inside. On the ground floor, two spacious rooms await – a charming eat-in kitchen and a welcoming lounge. The lounge centres around a wood burner set within an old inglenook fireplace, with plush seating, a Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and a stack of board games for cosy evenings in. The kitchen, with its pastel-painted cabinets and sturdy wooden breakfast table, offers everything needed to prepare hearty meals – perhaps using locally caught fish. From here, access the utility room with laundry facilities and storage, as well as a handy ground-floor WC. Upstairs, discover two beautiful bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed and superb views, while the second offers a versatile zip-and-link bed, adaptable as a super-king or twins. Completing this floor, the bathroom features a free-standing Victorian claw-foot bath and underfloor heating for a luxurious touch.

Outside, the thoughtfully landscaped garden is as appealing as the interiors. A long lawn, colourful flower beds and a paved patio with outdoor furniture set the scene for sunny stays, while a secure shed offers safe bike storage. For al fresco dining, an Ooni pizza oven and BBQ are provided. Finally, private parking for two cars ensures complete convenience.

Thanks for our 3rd stay at Lost Lobster, with total stays in Embleton now exceeding 20! Lost Lobster is truly a home with every room comfortable and welcoming. Highlights for us are the kitchen and the garden where we spend most of our time when there. Very thoughtful throughout, the owners provide me with the best range of kitchen equipment and waRead moreres that I could hope for. Use of the pizza oven is always part of our trip. The dogs are happy and provision of dog towels a great help. A big thanks as ever for giving us a lovely holiday. Hide

Enjoyed our time at this lovely cottage. Comments regarding tight access road below. Only other comment would be that the bath / shower was quite deep and may have presented a little difficulty to someone with mobility issues.

My husband and I stayed at Lost Lobster Cottage to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The cottage is perfect and so is the location. Welcome pack was fantastic and there is everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cottage was spotless on arrival and very well equipped. The village is beautiful as is Embleton Bay and The Grey's Inn is a greRead moreat pub for a few drinks. We ate at The Potted Lobster Bamburgh, The Jolly Fisherman's Craster and The Joiners Arms High Newton. Great food at all 3 venues, we returned to The Joiners Arms for our last night. Low Newton Beach was amazing as was Barter Books in Alnwick. Great days out at Alnmouth, Craster, Seahouses and all surrounding villages. Our dog loved the garden and the beaches. I know why so many people return to this cottage again and again. Hide
