An appealing sandstone cottage, this attractive holiday home in Seahouses is perfect for that coastal Northumberland break. Sleeping four guests, this two-bedroom seaside sanctuary could be perfect for a small family or couples seeking comfortable accommodation in an excellent location. Situated on the exclusive Village Farm development, the property is less than 1 mile from the sandy beach at St Aidan’s, where you can swim, picnic and wander through the dunes. Keen walkers might also like to stroll 3 miles along the sand, which becomes Seahouses Beach, to Bamburgh, with its striking castle. Take time out to visit the castle, which is set on a rocky plateau and was a backdrop to scenes from The Last Kingdom television series. From the harbour at Seahouses, take a boat trip out to the Farne Islands or book a seal or puffin cruise. Plan a day out to bustling Alnwick, 14.5 miles away.

Open the front door and step into the entrance hall. With a neutral colour scheme throughout, the ambience is immediately restful. From the hall, stairs make their way up to the first floor, and doors lead into a downstairs WC and the lovely light-filled lounge/diner, where you will spend much of your time. Settle here on the sandy coloured soft seating to catch up on everyone’s news, make plans and flick through the channels on the Smart TV. At one end of the room, there is ample space for the dining table and chairs, where you will gather for your holiday meals. Prepare these feasts in the stylish kitchen, which has been carefully equipped with everything you should need for home catering – it features beautiful granite work surfaces. When you are ready for a good night’s sleep, climb the stairs up to your bedrooms, a lovely double and an inviting twin, on the first floor. Both rooms are immaculately presented and have good storage and sumptuous bedding and towels, to ensure the very best of experiences. The contemporary family bathroom, with a bath and shower, is also at this level.

The south-facing, lawned garden at the house has been just as carefully conceived. Dine at the table outside during warm spells and watch your four-legged friend explore to his heart’s content. There is private parking for two cars at the cottage, plus access to a pay-as-you-go EV charger.
