Stunning views and a surprising amount of space make this high-quality apartment an excellent choice for an unforgettable holiday on the Northumberland coast. Perfect for couples or a small family, it’s one of a boutique collection of apartments within an elegant Edwardian building, just metres from the heart of the wonderful village of Bamburgh. Explore the Grace Darling Museum and Bamburgh Castle (0.5 miles), one of the largest inhabited castles in the country. There’s a good choice of shops, cafes and restaurants in the village, and the beach, less than 1 mile away, is dog-friendly all year. From Seahouses (3 miles), you can take a boat to the Farne Islands or sit by the harbour and enjoy fresh fish and chips, while Budle Bay (1.5 miles) is the place for bird watching. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne (its causeway open either side of low tide) is 12.5 miles away.
From the grand, shared hallway take the stairs up to the first floor and your front door. The bright and airy kitchen/diner is straight ahead, with elegant cabinets, a breakfast table for four and all the appliances you’ll need. The lounge/diner, five steps up, is a stylishly co-ordinated space in which an array of comfortable seating is arranged around an open fire. For entertainment, you can switch on the Smart TV or play a CD on the stereo; board games and a small selection of children’s toys are also provided. The dining area (one small step up), with built-in seating around a marble table, is set within the elegant bay window, which has lovely views through trees to the historic church, and beyond to open fields and Holy Island. In a large nook off the lounge, a small study area is tucked away, alongside shelves of books and space for a dog bed on the floor. The twin bedroom is close to the entrance door, a huge room with large windows and views towards the sea. The beds are made up with luxury linens and storage is in the form of a pretty pine chest of drawers and a small vintage hanging rack. Further along the hallway, down one step and up another two, you’ll find the master bedroom. As you wake in the mornings you’ll be greeted with distant views of the sea and morning sunshine as you lounge in your super-king-size bed. The pretty family bathroom is adjacent and features a shower over the bath.
When you can’t resist sitting out in the sunshine, head to the south-facing shared garden at the back of the house, which is safely enclosed and includes a picnic table and a summerhouse. Another benefit of this high-quality holiday escape is private parking, in a shared car park at the side of the house.
