A striking Amble escape with sweeping coastal views, this enticing retreat looks out towards Coquet Island. Sleeping six adults and two children, the four-bedroom, three-storey property is just 0.5 miles from the sandy beach and from the harbour, where you can book trips out to the puffin colony on the island. The vibrant harbour is also known for its pod village, where you can shop for gifts, jewellery, food, drink and other items. Pick up the Northumberland Coast Path in Amble and follow it in either direction to take in the dramatic scenery. Venture 2 miles into Warkworth, with its medieval castle, and a further 1 mile to spend time on its beautiful, sandy beach. Head into Alnwick, 9.5 miles away, where there is another castle, this one familiar from scenes from the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey TV shows. Explore the exquisite Alnwick Garden while you are here.

Make your way inside the welcoming house at ground-floor level via a lobby and then the hall to discover bright, contemporary accommodation. Here, there is access to a downstairs WC. The rest of this floor encompasses the impressive, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its sleek grey colour scheme and French doors to the garden. Spend time in here chatting over coffee at the breakfast bar, whipping up tasty treats with delicacies bought in Amble and dining together at the table with its sea views. You can also relax on the comfortable seating. The main lounge is on the first floor, where it faces east and out to sea. Congregate here to watch the Smart TV, chat or absorb the views. Pull back the bi-folding doors to stroll out onto the glass-fronted balcony and have a cup of tea in the fresh air. Also on this level are two of your bedrooms, a lovely twin and a bunk bedroom that the children will adore. There is also a family bathroom. Make your way up to the second floor to find your two sumptuous double bedrooms, each with modern decor and the luxury of an en-suite shower room.

Savour the sunshine and sea air out in the west-facing garden. Dine out here as the children or pets play on the lawn. There is off-road parking for two cars at this cottage, with more free parking close by. The property has an EV charging point.

Previous occupation with pet dogs had left excessive hairs. Vacuum cleaners were blocked and full of hair debris and floors and upholstery was dirty. House was exceptionally appointed with everything you could need on holiday. Views over the links to the sea were beautiful. Shame cleaners had not removed dog hairs - unblocking vacuum cleaner brusheRead mores and emptying would have sorted everything out. Hide
