Awarded a prestigious 4 stars, a GOLD award for excellence, Sandy Shores occupies one of Alnmouth’s most sought-after locations and was one of the first homes built along the beachfront. This charming coastal village is just a few minutes’ walk away and offers a delightful deli, four inviting pubs, a large art gallery, and a handful of boutique gift shops. Alnmouth is known for its picturesque streets, excellent eateries, and quirky shops, with its sandy, dog-friendly beach right on your doorstep. The village offers a variety of pubs and some fantastic restaurants, while unique shops and galleries make exploring the streets a real pleasure. A short drive from Sandy Shores brings more local attractions within easy reach. Warkworth village lies 4 miles south, and the historic market town of Alnwick, home to its famous castle and the Alnwick Garden, is just 3 miles north. Venture 6.5 miles to Amble to wander the Harbour Village or book a puffin and seal-watching cruise on the open sea. The property itself is west-facing, offering uninterrupted views of the beach and estuary, with a traditional iron balcony perfect for watching sunsets over the dunes. The village centre, only a 3–4 minute stroll away, provides a selection of pubs, restaurants, boutiques, and galleries, all adding to the convenience and charm of this prime location.

Sleeping up to eight guests, Sandy Shores occupies the top-left portion of the original Prudhoe Villas, a grand Victorian property spread across three floors, with each level offering unique views of the beach and estuary. Enter your private quarters, through the internal door, then hang your coats and bags in the hall. Follow the impressive staircase up to the first floor of the house, where a wide hall leads to all the main accommodation. Head into the lounge and find yourself mesmerised by the spectacular views out across the water from the west-facing windows. Light the open fire on chilly days and settle on one of the soft sofas to watch the Smart TV or play a game together. Take two steps down from the hall to enter the kitchen/diner, which has been fitted out to make catering for your party as easy as possible. There is also a breakfast bar here where you can perch on a stool and sip a cup of fresh coffee from the machine, as well as a further small TV. The dining room, which has a door to the balcony, sits between the lounge and kitchen/diner. Enjoy your meals at the heavy wooden table in here as you gaze out over the estuary. One of your bedrooms, super-king-size, with an en-suite shower room, Smart TV, Xbox and zip-and-link beds that can be made into a twin on request, is also at this level. Head on up to the second floor to find three more bedrooms, a king-size and two doubles, all with good storage. The impressive family bathroom, where you can refresh yourselves under the rainfall shower or with a long soak in the beautiful bath, is two steps down from the landing.

Built by the Duke of Prudhoe as the first house on Riverside Road, the home retains its historic character with period details throughout. Practical amenities include private parking for two cars (a rarity in Alnmouth) and dog-friendly accommodation for two pets. Families will also appreciate the nearby play park with a BBQ area. Combining classic seaside charm with modern comfort, Sandy Shores offers an exceptional coastal retreat, whether you are strolling along the sand, sampling local cuisine, or simply soaking up the sun and sunsets from the balcony.

This was one of the best properties we have stayed in. The villa was in an excellent location with stunning views. The villa was immaculate and everything you could need for a stay was provided. A lovely touch was the welcome basket too. Will definitely be back for another stay.

Just returned from a wonderful stay for my mothers 70th birthday. The house was perfect. Plenty of space for us all, the walks on our doorstep all weekend were perfect. The scenery changed every time we stepped out of the door. Simply stunning. Thank you.

We had a long weekend in Sandy Shores. Wonderful location, extremely comfortable house. Loved the balcony as we had amazing weather so sat there in the evenings watching the sun. There are many walks from this house that are worth doing.

This is a fabulous place to stay. It's very comfortable and has lovely views over the estuary. It's also very quiet at night so you can sleep well. Alnmouth itself is an attractive town with a surprising number of good places to eat and drink and lots of good walk along the coast in both directions.

Probably one of the best locations and views in Alnmouth. Very comfortable and well equipped house . Very convenient for shop and pub in Alnmouth and beach and local walks. There are a lot of stairs so not ideal for people with limited mobility. The beautiful balcony more than makes up for lack of outside space.

This property is situated in a great location. The rooms are located up a couple of flights of stairs, so the views of the estuary are amazing. The property is well appointed, nicely decorated and has lots of space to relax. The beds were comfy and each bedroom a decent size. The house was spotlessly clean too. Nice bathrooms, complete with toiletrRead moreies. Everything that you could need in a kitchen. A variety of books (both for adults and children) and lots of toys for the children. The village centre is a short walk away, the beach too. There is parking for 2 cars, it is tight but doable. Our third car was parked on the road near the house. We all enjoyed a really nice stay here. Hide
