What a wonderful place to stay ! This cottage is in a perfect location for exploring. It is well kept and the view from the living room window of the castle is amazing. The cottage had everything you need, the addition of a washing machine and a BBQ was ideal too. It is nicely decorated and kept well. If anything I feel like the cottage could have Read morebeen slightly cleaner however this is just the smaller details of skirting boards/floors etc. The welcome hamper as always is a real treat and fresh flowers a great touch. The access to the cottage is not easy with children and a dog plus lots of luggage but I think as long as you are aware of this then there is no issue. A great gem in the heart of Warkworth ! Hide

Well appointed property that can accommodate two adults comfortably or two adults and two young children. Warkworth has a range of places to eat and is well positioned for exploring the Northumberland coast and inland destinations such as Hadrian's Wall at Hexham.

We loved Warkworth. We have been to Northumberland coast before and love it, this was our first time in this village having preferred Alnmouth before, however are now sold on warkworth! The river is so pretty and we were able to take our spaniel round the river and castle multiple times a day. Lovely herons and ducklings on the river that the childRead moreren loved seeing, and the actual village itself is so cute, even authentic almond croissants! The house is adorable, perfectly positioned, very quiet, and for the most part really well cared for. There is a little upkeep needed in the soft furnishings and it felt a bit draconian having extra signs around telling you not to put dogs on the furniture or in the bedrooms (when we already knew that from the booking), and then the sofa and chairs were pretty old, faded and stained anyway, and the bedding was damp. Also annoying saying your dog cant even use the French doors and that really felt unnecessary. Hey ho. It was our first time ever noticing issues with a coquet cottage and it wouldnt stop us using them again but might stop us booking this particular property perhaps. The welcome hamper was lovely as usual. Hide

The Bridge Barn is ideally situated in Warkworth for a couple to enjoy all that the village and surrounding area has to offer. The well-equipped converted barn has spacious open-plan comfortable living upstairs with kitchen and living area, including dining table and a fantastic view of Warkworth Castle which is well worth a visit. Downstairs, FrenRead morech windows from the master bedroom open out into a charming, sheltered small mature garden with seating for when the sun shines. The children's room with bunkbeds makes a useful 'kit' room beside the entrance door. The historic old bridge across the Coquet River is only 100m away and the village and its river-side walks make it very pleasant to stroll around, stopping off at the pubs or enjoying the range of eateries. Food shopping is best done elsewhere. Access to walking and cycling routes are nearby and numerous visits to castles and gardens are possible and worthwhile (Alnwick, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Cragside, Howick). The beaches are sensational either for dog-walking or swimming when the tide is in, we liked Embelton and Longhoughton the best. We appreciated the welcome basket with local foods and having the Coquet Office nearby was helpful for any queries. Hide
