We had a lovely family holiday at Puffin Cottage. There was plenty of space for five adults, a one year old and a dog. The location was especially good being situated quietly in North Sunderland but only a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the excellent facilities in Seahouses. The fabulous Northumberland coast was easily accessible and we loved our visRead moreits to Alnwick, Bamburgh and Beadnell. The hi light of our week , although it is difficult to choose just one, would probably be the coastal walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle and on to Embleton beach - absolutely stunning! Puffin Cottage made a very comfortable base for our holiday. We appreciated the fact that Coquet Cottages replaced the highchair on the same day we requested them to - the original one was missing one of the safety straps. A replacement was sourced quickly and delivered promptly. Hide

We had a lovely stay in this cottage with excellent customer service from Coquet holidays. Good communication, very personal service and most comprehensive information pack that I have ever received. Only negative relates to the bed in the 2nd double room which my daughter and her husband found very uncomfortable. Either an old mattress or maybe a Read morebudget one -but they could feel the springs which interfered with a good nights sleep! The information on bin collection was a little confusing with the chart provided not being clear about week start or ending and the text reminder to put the bin out detailed the wrong bin. These 2 issues aside we would definitely book with this company again. Hide

We have stayed at Puffin Cottage several times now and we always have a lovely, relaxed stay with family. The location is brilliant for us and it really does feel like home. The only point to mention this time is that the cleanliness wasnt quite up to its usual standard which was disappointing. Overall however we had another brilliant stay!

Great access to shops and pubs in Seahouses and to the coastal path. We loved the welcome pack too!

Overall, we had a lovely stay. This is our second time booking with Coquette and they don't disappoint. Extremely thorough with communication and the hamper box on arrival is always a lovely gesture. The estate that the cottage is located in is lovely and peaceful. It has a classy look to it, reminded me of the Cotswolds. The good bits: Home was clRead moreean(ish) and tidy. Only a couple of minutes drive to Seahouses, we often walked and that took us about 15 minutes. By and large, the house is equipped with everything you'll need for your stay. Cleaners came for a mid-stay clean and they did a great job. Wifi was reliable and reasonably fast. Not so good bits: The master bedroom is quite cramped and the bed is very small for these modern times we live in. That meant our sleep wasn't always the best. The house gets extremely warm and there were no fans, we had to go out and buy a couple. There were a few things that made the property look a little tired. The outside table and chairs are on their last legs (excuse the pun). We have two children who like to watch TV. When it rains, you are sort of house bound so we spent a bit of time in the living room which is quite tired looking. The sofas really need to be replaced, they are form IKEA and very uncomfortable. My back was stiffening up after a couple of days. We aren't dog owners and we knowingly booked understanding this was a pet friendly cottage. There was a fair bit of dog hairs gathering on the carpets and on the sofa chairs, the house may well benefit from a good deep clean to get rid of the dog smell and hairs. We had to sleep with the windows closed as there seemed to be a lot of seagull activity as soon as the sun started to come up. Not sure if they are nesting in the building site next door. For a house that sleeps 6 people, the frying pan is very small. Kitchen knives are useless, we'll bring our own next time. Hide
