Warkworth has a choice of great pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops, and is home to a magnificent 15th-century castle and a secluded medieval hermitage. There’s also a long, golden sandy beach just a mile to the east. The River Coquet passes close to the cottage, offering tranquil walks to the coast and inland. A stroll south along the estuary will take you to the bustling fishing port of Amble (1.5 miles) which has some fabulous seafood restaurants and a busy Sunday market. To the north, the popular town of Alnwick (7.5 miles) is known for its majestic castle and the breathtaking Alnwick Garden.
Entering this airy cottage, head along the hallway and into the light-filled kitchen/diner. This bright and cheerful room offers a warm welcome, with a central dining table perfect for family get-togethers. The fully equipped and thoughtfully organised kitchen has plenty of storage and workspace, and there’s a handy sofa to one side. The ground floor also has a WC.
