The area is perfect for birdwatchers and nature spotters, with boat trips available from nearby Amble (6 miles) out to see the puffin and seal colonies of Coquet Island. Other local landmarks and attractions include the Alnwick Garden, Alnwick Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland Zoo and Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum, all within 14 miles.
