From the harbour in Amble (1.5 miles) you can join a boat trip to view the seals and puffins of Coquet Island. Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Being so close to the river meant that could sit on a bench overlooking the river (I loved Ronnie and Joan's bench best) for morning coffee in the sunshine. Having the little bench outside the house itself was great. Also really enjoyed on a windy day curling up on the day bed with the view overlookinRead moreg the castle with a book. We really appreciated the little extra touches that made it fell homely like the welcome basket and coffee machine. I really liked the fact that there were plenty of spare cloths, binbags, refills for soap etc. and spare towels, mats etc. tucked away- whilst it seems a small thing again it made it feel more comfortable and as if you were at home and able to keep it looking lovely during the stay. Location was lovely- having the village, river and beach all so close is something quite unique and a range of other locations in really easy reach as well. Hide
