In Craster itself, discover further pubs and eateries serving the harbour village’s most famous delicacy – smoked kippers. From here, set out along the coastal path for the Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle walk, reaching this majestic seafront ruin in just 2 miles. Along the way, soak up unforgettable views of Northumberland’s coast and look out for puffins, dolphins and other rare wildlife offshore. Once at the castle, spend time at Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course or Embleton Beach (both 3 miles), always with the dramatic sea as your backdrop. In the opposite direction, enjoy a cheerful afternoon at Howick Hall (2.5 miles), exploring its grand estate and fabulous gardens.

Lovingly designed to provide a restful retreat, this end-terrace cottage is sure to make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Enter via the conservatory, a bright and spacious addition to the ground floor with plenty of room to sit, dine and unwind. Next door, the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner offers further space to gather, centred around a handsome Range cooker and fully equipped for all your culinary needs. Continue through to the living room, painted in warm heritage tones and furnished with comfy seating, a TV/DVD, books, games and a wood burner – the perfect touch for cosy evenings in. Upstairs, three bedrooms are set across the first and second floors. On the first floor, a king-size and a twin share a family bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate walk-in shower. The master bedroom takes up the entire top floor, complete with an en-suite shower room and large Velux windows framing views across to Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle beyond.

Outside, venture into the charming garden, a fully enclosed space brimming with wildflowers and lush flora. A table and chairs provide the perfect spot for sunny days, while the outbuilding has been cleverly converted into a utility room with a washer/dryer, WC and storage for surfboards or sports equipment. Lovely area with lots to do- walking, cycling, glorious beaches and towns to visit. Excellent outdoor storage space- theres an outbuilding/shed ideal for keeping bikes or fishing rods in, thanks. When we arrived the hot water wasn't working properly, and the hosts had a plumber out to fix that first thing on Monday morning, which was appreciated. Hide
