We had a fantastic stay. The house is beautiful, loved the decor. The wonderful welcome pack with local produce and home baked cake for us and a pack for our dog was such a nice touch. Its just a short walk into Wooler and a drive to the coast. The hot tub was an added bonus which we used. We would happily stay here again.

Strathmore is a lovely welcoming house that was ideal for our family gathering for a big birthday. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 dogs. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, the bedrooms were very good with super comfortable beds and the lounge and dining areas were great for us all to get together. We were greeted upon arrival wRead moreith a lovely welcome hamper including fresh cake, which was much appreciated. We had favourable weather during the week so we were able to make good use of the lovely gardens, seating areas and the hot tub. Catherine was on hand when needed and responded very promptly to a minor issue we had on arrival. The house is situated very close to the shops, pubs and cafes in Wooler, and Wooler is a lovely village. We had a fantastic week at Strathmore. Thank you. Hide

I cannot help but give this place five stars. The customer service began with a phone call in the afternoon of our first day, telling us that the cottage was ready for us. We were walking around the village with a couple of hours to spare, so this was great news. We walked in to fresh flowers, a handmade cake (delicious) and everything else we coulRead mored wish for. The beds were comfortable, the sofas were comfortable, there were plenty of cups and plates in the kitchen, together with a coffee machine, and lots of books to choose from. We went in the hot tub, and were surprised to find flipflops and towels to use. They have literally thought of everything. We were both sad to leave. Hide

Communication prior to arrival with the cottage owners was great . We loved the sociable space . The house was spacious yet cosy and welcoming . The hot tub was a firm favourite and was enjoyed by all. It felt very private and we were deranged by the garden blackbird and robins I loved the history of the building and the amazing old veterinary bookRead mores which were a nod to the houses past . We liked the close proximity to Wooler and enjoyed lunch at the Blackbull and a dinner at Milan - everyone was very friendly . Hide

We stayed here as 5 adults, 2 couples and elderly father. As we walked in the cottage we were delighted with the initial impression of the property, however we soon noticed faults which should have been identified and put right!! Curtains falling off curtain poles in 2 rooms. Cobwebs and dust in all rooms, the downstairs shower does not drain for hRead moreours so can only be used by 1 person for a short shower leaving a few hours for it to drain. The shower head on upstairs shower needs replacing! We couldnt get the main sitting room warm because the window was extremely draughty! We spent all our time in the snug which was very comfortable except for the broken leg on the footstool. The main bedroom was very draughty, the blinds moved with the wind so this room was pretty cold. The en suite was filthy, the toilet didnt empty without plunging and the extractor blew in black bits. The main toilet upstairs didnt empty well either which is not ideal when it services the needs of 4 people (due to the downstairs bathroom flooding from the shower) I think this house could be amazing as the decor and furnishings are fantastic and the beds were super comfy. The welcome pack was fabulous. I feel it needs a really good thorough clean and the drainage issues looking at. We did mention the drainage and footstool to the owner who said she was aware of these issues, clearly maintenance is required. The property is ideally located for access to all Northumberland has to offer. Hide
