The renowned Alnwick Castle, half a mile away, the second largest inhabited castle in the country, offers some wonderful medieval architecture to discover, as well as the beautiful castle grounds brimming with local wildlife. For nature lovers, Hulne Park, a mile away, is a beautiful public park that encircles the castle, offering scenic walking trails to enjoy on foot or by bike. For those looking to explore Northumberland’s stunning coastline, venture to the seaside village of Alnmouth, 5 miles away, to enjoy a traditional bucket and spade day along the breathtaking 7-mile stretch of sandy beach.

The extension at the rear of the kitchen is a light-filled sanctuary, boasting patio doors and a glass ceiling, with two plush armchairs creating the perfect spot for your morning coffee. With views stretching towards the Northumbrian countryside and an original, ornamental red-brick fireplace, the master king-size bedroom upstairs is a tranquil retreat. The second king-size bedroom upstairs also features an original, ornamental red-brick fireplace and both west and south-facing windows, whilst the cheerful single bedroom is bathed in natural sunlight from the south-facing window. Also upstairs, the family bathroom retains the property’s period charm with a contemporary twist.

Outside, you’ll find a lovely, enclosed patio, perfect for al fresco dining or simply enjoying the fresh air. Our stay at Sunflower House was great. The house its self is gorgeous, everything we needed for our family and in a perfect location. We would definitely like to stay here again when we come to Alnwick

We loved Sunflower House. Extremely comfortable larger than normal corner terrace where the sun streams through the windows at the front. Sofas you sink into with extra soft blankets provided. Had a two week break at the Sunflower Cottage, Alnwick. Ideal location for my wife and I. Very close to town centre ( less than 5 mins walk) and plenty of free street parking outside the house. Easy access to the coast and inland ( The drive over to Rothwell should not be missed.) House was well appointed with everything we could need and with goodRead more central heating. My husband and I (plus two young kids and a dog) stayed for a week at Sunflower House in Alnwick, and we really loved it. The house is lovely top to bottom, and so comfortable, with pretty much every mod con you could want. It really felt like home, and is in a quiet, but fantastic location a few minutes walk from the town centre. We actually walkeRead mored to Alnwick Castle, and the fantastic Lilidorei in about 10 minutes, which was much easier than using our car. Barter books was only a 5 minutes walk away, as was a great local park for the kids, and our dog. Loads of amazing beaches were a short drive away. We found Alnwick to be an excellent base to explore Northumberland. We loved the fantastic kitchen, as well as chilling out in the sitting room in front of the large TV, and wood fired stove. Beds really comfy, nice shower, loads of plates, cutlery glasses etc. All very well thought out. We'll be back! Hide

We loved our short break at Sunflower House and found it to be homely, comfortable and in a fab location. It had everything we needed and more. Cant wait to return in future.
