The village itself is just 5 minutes on foot, and has a warm, welcoming feel, with riverside walks and cosy pubs that are perfect for winding down after a day out. While you're here, the medieval fortress of Warkworth Castle is less than 500 metres from the property and is a must for history buffs. Warkworth Beach is a mere 1.5 miles away and boasts pristine sands and a surf school that caters to all abilities. To the south, Amble's (1.5 miles) harbour is awash with charming fish shacks, pastel-painted huts, and wildlife to spot, including a colony of puffins that can be admired from the scenic coastal path from Amble to Warkworth. Another short drive brings you out to Alnwick Castle (8 miles), where centuries of history and grand architecture make for an unforgettable outing.

On arrival, step inside this L-shaped bungalow where a pretty hallway welcomes you to kick off your walking boots. Settle into the relaxing living room for family film nights in front of the flames of the wood burner. Next door, make fluffy pancake breakfasts or hearty soups in the well-equipped grey-washed kitchen, while a central dining table provides space to dine in style. Tuck in your pup in the utility room before heading down the hallway to four delightfully decorated bedrooms, including three double bedrooms and one single bedroom. Each of the double bedrooms offers a Smart TV and glamorous decor, while the single bedroom sports a timeless look and pretty bedding. Each morning or night, use the en-suite Jack and Jill shower room or family bathroom to refresh.

The Mediterranean-inspired patio garden is a real haven of tranquillity with a cafe-style table and chairs, and a larger table for 7 guests. We've stayed several times now with Coquet and holidayed even more times in Northumberland. This property is up with, if not even maybe the very best, we've stayed in. Spacious, well equipped, in a great location, quiet yet with lots on your doorstep and in easy reach. We met the lovely owners who were very helpful. We would love to return (and quiRead morete possibly will). Hide

Had a fantastic week, the house is really lovely. Would be even better with an additional shower as for older people the bath wasnt accessible and maybe slightly less furniture in the bedrooms to give more space. Kitchen was a great space, could have benefited from a couple more chopping boards, dishwasher tablets and clingfilm. House location is Read moregreat, a short stroll to plenty of amenities and good to have a parking space though lots just over the road and some handy riverside grass for the dog. Beach and river walks close by, olds went to Alnwick on the bus and loved the gardens and bookshop. Caboose was fab for ice cream and almond croissant. Hide

The Boathouse is the perfect place for a celebration with friends. The open plan lounge is spacious and welcoming and a great place to watch tv, play games and relax around the fire. Loved the kitchen with a large table for others to sit around while cooking. We liked the fact the bedrooms were in a separate wing ! Brenda went above and beyond withRead more pre-arrival arrangements and could not have been more helpful. The location right by the coquet river is beautiful - especially seeing the sun rise - and just a short walk by the river to the warkworth pubs and shops. Would highly recommend. Ive been to warkworth many times and this is definitely my favourite property. Hide

A lovely Christmas again in The Boathouse. Perfect stay with family . We have stayed here several times now and it never disappoints. Owner very , very helpful and welcoming - Thank you Danny! Nice welcome pack gratefully received also. Coquet Cottages kept us fully informed about our stay and are a great company to book with . (Only thing to mentiRead moreon is lack of kitchen utensils , -very basic amount of cutlery ,especially teaspoons and cooking equipment, ie baking trays (only found 1) , serving dishes, wooden spoons , which made it tricky cooking a Christmas lunch ) This is the third time we have joined the Carols on the bridge on Christmas Eve and its a fabulous experience. Peaceful location with amazing sunrises sitting by the river and watching it with the Heron made it very special ! A cosy , beautiful house in a lovely village its a perfect stay - Thank you Hide
