This grand, Georgian retreat is nestled within the heart of Alnmouth village and is just half a mile from its sandy beach. With so much to do in the surrounding area, and with thoughtfully designed decor, this home makes a fantastic choice for sizable groups who love to explore. Spend quality afternoons in this pretty coastal village, perusing its art galleries, grabbing a pub lunch or picking up groceries at the deli. For days on the beach, slip on your flip flops and make the 0.5-mile journey to Alnmouth Beach, where pups can roam free and picnics come with scenic views. The magical market town of Alnwick (3 miles) is a must for Harry Potter fans. Not only did the castle star in the blockbuster series, but the surrounding shops and cobbled streets are dotted with spellbinding shops, historic artefacts, and an enchanting garden with over 4000 different plants.

Step off the main street of Alnmouth and into the light-flooded hallway of the home, which sets the tone for your stay. Flagstone floors guide you into the welcoming lounge, where a wood-burning-effect stove creates a warm focal point, surrounded by comfy seating for eight and a Smart TV for relaxed evenings in. To the left, the kitchen/diner features original arched windows, stylish navy blue units and plenty of appliances. This stress-free space is accompanied by an eight-seater dining table and a wood burner, so cosy evenings can continue long into the night. The utility room is a welcome storage solution, especially if you brought furry companions. Get lost in a good book before heading to bed. On the ground floor, and down two steps, is the farmhouse-inspired double bedroom, which has access to an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, you'll find three more inviting bedrooms designed with restful nights in mind: a king-size and two super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms that can be converted to twins on request. Two of the rooms boast beach views and en-suite shower rooms, while the third overlooks the striking courtyard. Finishing off this floor is the stylish family bathroom.

The peaceful patio courtyard will be the heart of your holiday antics, with dining space for eight and afternoon sunshine that provides memorable evenings of eating and playing games. There is no designated parking; however, there is space for one car across the old carriage gates, and public on-street parking nearby.

One of the best houses weve stayed in in Northumberland - beautifully decorated and comfortable, a few steps to the beach and the shops and restaurants in Alnmouth. We simply couldnt fault it if we tried. Thank you - I hope well be back!

Three generations enjoyed a second visit to The Carriage House which was an ideal property near the beach. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms made it easy for everyone to be up and out early in the morning. Outside space was an added bonus. We hope to return again.

Thank you for a perfect week at your house. We were 4 generations and the house worked perfectly for us all. Being so close to the beach was brilliant for the 2 little ones and also our elderly dog. We would love to return and enjoy beautiful Northumberland. Thank you once again.
