Explore the magnificent Alnwick Castle, famously featured in the Harry Potter and Downton Abbey films, and wander through the beautifully curated Alnwick Garden with its stunning water features and famous Poison Garden. Just a short drive away, the picturesque coastline awaits, with golden beaches at Alnmouth (5 miles) and Beadnell (13 miles) and dramatic seascapes around Craster (8 miles) and Seahouses, (15 miles), where you can take a boat trip to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands.

Set in a former brewery, the much-admired development is now home to this comfortable modern apartment, set on the second floor. Enter the shared main building and take the stairs or lift to the apartment’s front door. Step inside the hallway to find space for your outdoor coats and shoes, then head through to the light and airy open-plan living area with dual-aspect windows, including access to the balcony. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with everything you need, and with a small dining table and seating for four, you can enjoy sociable mealtimes together. At bedtime, the two delightful bedrooms are set off the hallway: a dual-aspect king-size bedroom with access to the balcony where you can relax with your morning coffee, and a tranquil double bedroom. We really enjoyed our stay at Barley Nook. The apartment was perfectly located for walking into Alnwick and visiting the castle, pubs and assorted eateries, as well as the nearby attractions. We found the apartment spotlessly clean and the welcome hamper very generous and luxurious.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at this holiday apartment. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing break. We really loved this flat. Its location is superb & having on site parking is a bonus. It was very well equipped with a lovely unexpected welcome pack. Its within easy walking distance into town, & the owner thoughtfully provided a super list of places to eat & places to visit.

This is a superb apartment in an impressive building within walking distance of all amenities and driving distance of a beautiful coastline. The apartment is in pristine condition, modern and comfortable with thoughtful touches throughout. The welcome hamper was excellent, the best we have had. This little apartment is top notch A real home from home and a lovely welcome hamper. Well equipped and in a great place in Alnwick so close to all the shops and amenities. Also a good base for exploring round and about. We visited Bamburgh castle and the beaches and Lindisfarne and it goes without saying Barter Books of course

We stayed at Barley Nook for 4 nights and used the apartment as a base for exploring the Northumberland coast. We found the apartment to be as beautiful as the photographs on the website. It is very modern, spotless and with high quality equipment. The owners have thought of everything you would need for a self catering holiday from very easy to foRead morellow instructions on how to locate and enter the apartment to the most amazing welcome pack we have ever had.
