Guest Feedback for Honeybee Cottage

Our visitors’ book at Honeybee Cottage is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.

Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted some of the repeats of these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ book in Honeybee Cottage.

The cottage looked amazing on the website but even better than we could have asked for. We had a fabulous meal at Bertram’s, The Jolly Fisherman and The Old Boat house. The weather for February was dry if not a bit blustery for the first couple of days. Norman loved the beaches and surfing down the sand dunes. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful cottage, perfect for two couples. Everything needed from logs to clingfilm!

Beautiful cottage. We couldn’t ask for anything else, it’s been perfect. Having stayed in Warkworth last time, I wanted to find a property in the location. Always like a log fire! I love your company, your staff are so friendly and helpful.

As always, a wonderful experience in this beautiful cottage. We love to return here each time due to it’s location, high standard of decor & furnishings & cosy atmosphere. We watched it being renovated by Julie & Mark and we couldn’t wait to experience the heart & soul that had been put into the property. A good selection of local produce in the welcome basket. We really liked the log burner, the beautiful kitchen and the very comfy bed!

Another fantastic week here in Warkworth weather has been bright and crisp so we were out and about all week exploring Northumberland some more. Honeybee Cottage faultless – so good we booked it again for next year! Great walks, friendly people, picturesque and pubs are good too! Perfect really. Counting the dates down until we are back.

The location, features and layout, size, easier parking than previous cottage. We liked Gluten Free items for my wife as she is a coeliac. Honeybee was very comfortable to stay there and the location in the village is perfect.

We have just had a lovely stay at gorgeous Honeybee Cottage. We have stayed at many Coquet Cottages in the past and have loved them all. Honeybee Cottage is absolutely stunning – superb location on the river, beautiful and welcoming interior with anything and everything that you could possibly need. We absolutely loved it and it was a pleasure to stay there. Thank you again Coquet Cottages.

We absolutely love Honeybee Cottage, it is just perfect in every way. An absolute home from home it is so beautiful and has everything and more that we could possibly need. We saw Honeybee Cottage being renovated last year whilst staying in another beautiful cottage and what a fantastic job it is. Everything about the cottage is just top class and the location on the river is beautiful. Just want to say a big thank you to Julie and Mark. We locked ourself out on Monday evening and we phone Julie and Mark who arrived within a couple of minutes to let us in.

Honeybee Cottage is located on a quiet road by the river in Warkworth. With a stunning location and beautiful decor it is more than just a home from home. Being a dog owner it is a real treat and privilege to be able to access and enjoy luxury cottages of this high standard. The attention to detail from Coquet Cottages especially all the little bee references from the door knocker to the cushions will have you looking up interior Knick knacks for your own home. This was our 3rd stay in a Coquet property and they do not disappoint. The welcome hamper for both us and the dog was much appreciated. Honeybee Cottage is decorated to a high specification with an exquisite kitchen and wood burning fire in the front room for the winter months. The 2 bedrooms were spacious, both with decent sized bathrooms. Warkworth is such a gorgeous village with a real welcoming vibe, with Bertrams offering delicious homemade cakes and the chance to pick up some art from Fenwick Gallery. In addition, you have to access to the Northumberland Coast which you might want to keep secret as it is so beautiful. Thank you Coquet Cottages and keep doing what you’re doing, escaping the ordinary is so much fun with you.

We’ve had a lovely week in Warkwoth. Honeybee Cottage is fantastic! Welcome packs were great and Bentley loved the treats! We’ve enjoyed walking along the river and through the town, as well as visiting Alnwick, Cragside & Bamburgh(the castle is now dog friendly). Thanks for a relaxing week!

We’ve had a lovely week in a gorgeous cottage. Thank you for a fab welcome basket. Eateries: The Hermitage Inn, Warkworth good for kids as they do pizzas in the beer garden, The Fish Shack, Amble rustic seafood – great value. Places to Visit: Craster to Dunstanburgh finishing in The Jolly Fisherman. Cragside. Rothbury – great for all. Warkworth Beach & Castle – stunning. Amble, Alnmouth good for a wander. We will be back!

I’ve just filled in the survey, but wanted to get in touch to say what a lovely holiday we’ve had! This was our second trip to Northumberland (we stayed at Nursery Cottage last year), and decided to stay in Warkworth this year. We couldn’t have chosen a better-appointed cottage, the attention to detail was fantastic. As my parents came with us this year, the set-up of the cottage was perfect – they enjoyed pottering around the village while we travelled further afield and to the beach with Bentley. He had a great time – I’ve attached a couple of pictures! He particularly loved the beach and relaxing in his bed after a long day! Thanks again for such a comfortable and relaxing stay! We’re hoping to be back next year!

Best cottage we have ever stayed in.. and dog friendly. Thank you. The welcome basket covered most of the essentials to ‘survive’ the first evening/morning. We liked the showers best about the cottage!! But everything was great.. a TV in every room meant my daughter could keep up to date with Love Island, and Netflix was a great addition. Broadband quality was perfect. My wife didn’t want to leave!! Just a massive thank you and all being well we will be back next year. A massive thank you and all being well we will be back next year!

Beautiful cottage with everything you could ever need for a fab break. The village of Warkworth is where we always stay. We decided to take the in-laws with us for this break and having 2 bed and 2 bathroom property in this village was important to us.

Fabulous cottage, beautifully fitted and finished with real care. The design of the cottage, it’s location in a quiet street alongside the river and the beautiful interior with every need catered for. Hat’s off to the owner and their cleaning staff – the cottage was immaculate. Thought the dog welcome basket was fantastic. Your own basket was very good too and a lovely surprise. Your attention to detail, your follow up calls and your staff were all superb. We are regular renters of cottages over many years and your company now tops them all. Brilliant holiday in a superb cottage and we felt pampered!

We saw that this property was being renovated 12 months ago. The location and the promise of a high specification (and being dog friendly) all appealed. We loved the location and the kitchen/diner was beautiful. The whole property has been finished to a high specification with lovely touches. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also lovely. We can also see that the front room will be very cosy and inviting on cold evenings. All the furnishings were all well coordinated and the kitchen had a vast range of utensils. The welcome basket was lovely, the homemade scones, biscuits and wine were delicious.

Just got home from our holiday staying at Honeybee Cottage in Warkworth. Ideally placed overlooking the river Coquet is this fantastic newly renovated cottage. Boutique in style yet not losing the original cottage character, it is sumptuous, luxuriously furnished throughout, large additional room at the rear housing kitchen, lounge, dining area and downstairs cloakroom. Luxury toiletries throughout, two large en suite bedrooms and very comfy beds and bedding. Very generous welcome pack including flowers and everything to settle straight in. Even the dog had her own pack. Gleaming and spotlessly clean throughout. Beach, restaurants, pubs, hotel and shops all within easy walking distance. We have been to Warkworth for the last 5 years and stayed with Coquet Cottages each time, all cottages are lovely but Honeybee is a little bit special.

Superb cottage, excellent quality in a great location. Beautifully renovated but still retains its character. Fixtures, fittings and furnishings top quality. Better than 5 Star Gold. I booked this before official photos went online but it sounded appealing with the addition of kitchen/living/dining area at rear of property. Also sounded ideal for dog with no steps in/out of property. Excellent views from window over river. Parking easy on the Butts, just outside. Enclosed area at front and back of property.

Excellent quality as usual with an extensive makeover of Honeybee Cottage into something very special for a weekend away or an extended break. Superb kitchen area which really allows you to chill out and relax. Highly recommended – we are going again.

We have been coming to Warkworth for many years now and always stay in a Coquet Cottages property. This time we are in Honeybee which has been available since October 2018. It is, without a shadow of doubt, the best we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail, the quality of the soft furnishings and the location suits us right down to the ground. The housekeeping is of the highest standard too, all very mod cons in the kitchen especially the induction hob which is very user friendly. The “pots and pans” are of the highest quality as is everything else. We saw it as a “shell” and the transformation to how it is now is truly amazing. This is the twentieth occasion that we have stayed in a Coquet Cottage but Honey Bee ticks all our boxes. We have always loved Warkworth but now love it even more. I cannot recommend this property highly enough…

Honeybee Cottage is of a superb standard and delightful location. We had stayed in Sunny Cottage previously and liked this location, the accommodation gave us everything we required and the contemporary kitchen and living area appealed. We were not disappointed and would certainly book Honeybee Cottage again. The welcome basket’s local produce, particularly the artisan bread and scones were delicious! We liked everything about the cottage, but the kitchen/living area are stunning. Difficult to improve on perfection!

The Butterfields, March 2019

I’ve previously booked a holiday with Coquet Cottages. The quality of produce in the basket was great, just what was needed on arrival. Dogs welcome basket was also fantastic and unexpected! A wonderful touch.

Over the moon with the property. Modern and stylish and a real homely and cosy feel about it. The champagne was a great touch and our dog Rocky really appreciated his little treats. You guys just keep getting better and better. Never had a property yet that we’ve been disappointing with and will be continuing to use you for many years.

Gorgeous cottage, finished to an incredibly high spec! We loved the big beds, both rooms en-suite, beautiful views of the river and it was very convenient for Warkworth amenities.  Your website is great and whenever we email for advice your staff are extremely helpful and informative. Your fab cottages and great customer service is why we keep coming back again and again.  The welcome pack was very useful and much appreciated, and the dogs loved their welcome pack too!   Big thanks for your customer service, it’s First Class. We both work full time and it’s great to have found a company that we know will always make our holidays perfect and hassle free! Thank you.

Mrs Oates, stayed November 2018

Wonderful! Fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. Just perfect! This was our tenth Coquet Cottage (and we’re very particular about where we stay!), everything was lovely especially the cake! Please keep doing what you are doing. You make a lot of people very happy!

Mrs Newsome, Nov 2018

Honeybee Cottage is delightful – we were the first to stay in this newly renovated home and it really didn’t disappoint. The sun room/kitchen/diner is lovely and it’s where we spent most of our time. Bamburgh, Druridge Bay, Amble and Beadnell bay were probably our favourite places to walk the dog but there were so many more to explore. The Mason’s Arm’s in Warkworth is worth a visit as they do very good food (large portions!) but it can get very busy so book in advance for the restaurant. The Old Boathouse in Amble is great if you like seafood. Overall we’ve had a fantastic time exploring the North East Coastline and we will definitely be back.
