Guest Feedback for Honeysuckle House
Our visitors’ book at Honeysuckle House is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.
Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Honeysuckle House.
We have just enjoyed a glorious family holiday in Warkworth, staying in the very well appointed and comfortable Honeysuckle House. The photos on Coquet Cottages’ website are a true representation of the property. This was our first holiday as dog owners so we were slightly apprehensive! The location of Honeysuckle House is perfect for everything you would want to do as you are so close to both the beautiful river walks, the pubs, cafes and shops in the village and the castle. Due to being on 3 levels, the house is modern, fresh and spacious. It was well equipped for all aspects of self catering and the welcome basket(s) left by Coquet Cottages was a lovely warm gesture. A couple of points worth noting about the accommodation are that there is currently no washing machine, which Coquet Cottages do highlight and offer a washing service if required. The enclosed patio area to the rear is lovely and we enjoyed breakfast out there on a few mornings. It is totally secure for your dog but there is no grass so understandably, it is not allowed to be used as a toilet area for dogs. This was easily overcome by taking the dog on the lead across to the riverside which was beautiful early in the morning. We totally fell in love with Warkworth and the surrounding area, with its choice of amazing beaches on your door step and dog friendly establishments. Visits to Fenwick Gallery, Bertram’s Coffee Shop and The Masons Arms are ‘musts’!

The Post Office Bistro – pre booking ahead essential, Cabosse – fab ice cream and chocolate, Bertram’s – great lunch spot, have blankets in the courtyard! Barker Books & Station Buffet – an amazing place and fab food, Bamburgh Castle – worth the trip, Cragside – one of the best NT houses we’ve been to. Dave Gray’s Coquet Island Cruise – brilliant value for money and cash only! Spurelli’s in Amble – wonderful coffee and sundaes, Warkworth Castle – must do, The beach at Warkworth is brilliant, Best beach of all – Embleton. We didn’t do too much walking as i am recovering from a broken leg!
