Bay View – Cottage with Sea Views
A Stylish Seaside Holiday Cottage with Sea View
If you’re looking for a cottage with sea views, Bay View’s best feature is its amazing views out to the sea, over the pier with an ever-colour-changing scene in every season. The design of this gorgeous holiday home has been well thought out to capture the most of the stunning coastal landscape. You can see Coquet Island in the distance, as well as Warkworth beach, Alnmouth beach and Boulmer beach in the distance. This is the ultimate ‘coastal escape’ cottage with sea view in Amble.
Bay View sleeps up to 5 in 3 bedrooms; a king size room with an en suite shower room, a second king size room and a single room, and there is also a family bathroom too. The living area and kitchen is completely open plan, making the most of the fabulous coastal views through full height, full width sliding doors leading out to the terrace. Located at the very end of the headland at the southern end of Amble, there are undisturbed views out to the sea and the northern coastline.
If this cottage is booked up for the dates you want, why not check out its sister cottage, Seascape, a couple of doors down which is equally as gorgeous.
This luxury holiday cottage is less than 10 minutes’ walk to Amble’s harbour and marina, as well as the lovely Harbour Village with its quirky little independent arty shops and restaurants. There’s also a high street of great independent shops in the heart of Amble, as well as Tesco and Co-operative supermarkets and takeaways.
2 well-behaved dogs are very welcome to Bay View (please see our booking conditions) and there is free wi-fi throughout the cottage too.

It has an amazing view of the sea, the pier and Coquet Island through floor to ceiling windows the width of the room. The sliding doors open onto a furnished terrace to enable you to maximise the views and enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze in the warmer months. The colour of the sea and sky seem to constantly change, which is fascinating to watch. There’s a flatscreen TV and DVD player. Free wi-fi is available throughout the cottage.

Bay View is located at the end of the Bay View headland in Amble, overlooking the coast and the Amble pier. It’s within very easy walking distance of the harbour front with its shops, restaurants and famous Spurelli’s ice cream parlour. The terrace is fenced off but not completely private to passers by.
There’s a private parking bay for 2 cars adjacent to the front door, and a super new children’s play area is just opposite the cottage, within an attractive open grassed area, ideal for children and dogs. There are lovely coastal walks from the cottage to sandy beaches.
Bay View is a chic coastal home, with the interior embracing Amble’s harbour heritage without the chintz. It’s dog friendly and we loved the views and closeness to the sea and facilities. Also it looked freshly decorated, comfortable and not old fashioned. The bread was gorgeous! The welcome pack contained great goodies for cozying up in the cottage after a long walk.read our guest book
Tips from a local
Go on a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island, sailing from Amble dock. The island is home to over 40,000 nesting sea birds such as Puffins, Roseate Terns, Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider Ducks which all nest in the summer months. A grey seal colony also stays at the island all year round and can be seen on the east side of the island. The waters around the island are really clear and sometimes you can see dolphins. Dave Grey’s boat trips are the best and have been operating for the longest.
Tips from a local
Have a visit to the Harbour Market on a Sunday right just a couple of hundred yards from Bay View. You’ll likely find some interesting things here and some of the local bakeries have stalls here too. Carry on a bit further and you will find the Harbour Village, an arty collection of quirky little independent shops, Spurelli’s award-winning ice cream parlour, The Old Boathouse restaurant, The Fish Shack and The Fat Mermaid Tapas and Deli Bar. You’ll be spoilt for choice with these gorgeous eateries, but nothing can beat fresh Fish and Chips by the Sea! The Harbour Fish Bar and Quayside Chippy are both great.
Tips from a local
Cycle to Cresswell from Amble – it’s about an 8.5 mile route and the same again back. You follow the dunes heading south out of Amble, through Low Hauxley and the views are just beautiful. When we do this route, we finish at The Drift Café behind the dunes at Cresswell, for a hot coffee and something sweet, then we head back to Amble.
You can hire bikes for adults and children Pedal Power who are in Amble too, in case you couldn’t fit yours in the car!

Owners of Bay View
A Word from the Owners…
My grandfather moved to Amble to work as a stonemason in the 1890s. My father spent his life here 1910-2000 working as a grocer on Queen Street. I left Amble to pursue a career in town planning, but always intended to return to buy somewhere with a sea view when I retired. But didn’t expect to get one as good as Bay View!
After early retirement, my wife Christine and I bought the land to build Bay View and we’re delighted with the results. Our architect has fully exploited the potential of the location. The outlook across the harbour and out to sea is constantly changing and is quite mesmerising at times. It’s a very relaxing place. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
