The Barns at Otterburn is located in the pretty village of Otterburn with fabulous walks into the beautiful Northumbrian countryside right from the cottage. The Barns is in a great location for exploring the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest and the Dark Skies Observatory. For shopping, the lovely market town of Hexham and historic Corbridge offer a wealth of independent shops, great restaurants and authentic Northumbrian pubs, as well as Rothbury village which is a traditional country village with a great selection of pubs, eateries and shops, as well as the National Trust site, Cragside.
The Barns is located just a short stroll from the renowned wedding venue Le Petit Chateau, so if you’re looking for luxury accommodation in Otterburn when attending a wedding there, we have the perfect accommodation for you. Several stunning moor walks begin just yards from your door, which is perfect for keen walkers and guests with pets. The pub, William de Percy is a newly refurbished pub and restaurant in the village which serves an excellent standard of food. Customers travel far to visit this pub so make sure you book in advance!
Located in a lovely village, The Barns at Otterburn is a gorgeous, luxury retreat for guests looking to completely relax in a serene and tranquil environment. The new wedding venue, Le Petit Chateau, is just a couple of minutes’ walk away making it the perfect luxury base to come home to after a celebratory day. Their pub, the William de Percy serves gorgeous food in their bar and restaurant and Coquet Cottages guests can enjoy 15% off their food bill when they show their key ring attached to their keys. There are beautiful walks straight from the cottage around the countryside of Otterburn, ideal for exploring this lush green part of the National Park.
There are 3 bedrooms – 1 king size, 1 twin room and 1 single room. There’s a family bathroom and a free-standing bath in the master bedroom. There’s a large open plan lounge and dining room and, whilst the cottage is fully centrally heated, the addition of a wood-burning stove provides a cosy ambience in the cooler months. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped. Two dogs are welcome at The Barns for a small charge of £20 per holiday and there is free Wi-Fi.
The entrance into The Barns has a spacious hallway and a downstairs cloakroom.
A spacious room with a full hemmel arch windows along one wall letting in lots of natural light. The kitchen has all of the usual appliances, including a range oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer. There is an breakfast bar/island with 4 stools and extra seating for socialising during meal preparation.
Lounge and Dining Room
This gorgeous room also has hemmel arched windows along the whole of one wall, letting in plenty of natural light and overlooking the patio. There are comfortable sofas seating 5, a wood-burning stove and a large flat screen TV with an Amazon Firestick with access to Netflix. The lovely heavy oak dining table seats 6 and is open plan to the lounge.
Master Bedroom with Free-standing Bath and En-suite WC
King size (5ft wide) bed with luxury bed linen and towels. Towels and hairdryer. A free-standing bath adds to the luxury. There is an en-suite WC with wash hand-basin. Complimentary luxury toiletries by The White Company.

Synthetic bedding and pillows are provided on each bed. There is no alternative available.
One family bathroom with a large bath, separate large walk-in shower, WC and basin with heated towel rail. The master bedroom has WC and basin and there is a free-standing bath in the bedroom. Towels and complimentary luxury toiletries by The White Company.
The patio garden is gravelled and is accessed via the large French windows in the lounge area. Furnished with a table and chairs for outside dining (not shown on photo), the whole area is enclosed.
There is no BBQ provided at The Barns. Due to the surroundings and setting, it is not suitable to bring your own.
There is a bike store suitable for up to 3 bikes.
Accommodation on 2 floors; on the ground floor there is the cloakroom, kitchen and lounge/dining room with one step down from the kitchen to the lounge. On the first floor there are the 3 bedrooms (one with en suite) and the family bathroom.

Please be Aware
Whilst the wifi is fully installed broadband, Otterburn is a remote location and the network is not as reliable as it would be in a city centre. There may be occasions when the network isn’t as strong during bad weather for example, which is a 3rd party issue. If fast broadband is essential during your holiday at all times we would recommend bringing a dongle with you.

Tips from a local
Go for a hike at Kielder and take in the breath-taking scenery. With woodland walks, impressive lakes, fishing trips and even star gazing at the Observatory, this parkland is definitely worth a visit day or night. For an astronomy tour, be sure to book via the Kielder Observatory website to ensure a space and avoid disappointment.

Dine at the William de Percy Inn in Otterburn. Just a short walk from the cottage, the William de Percy is a french inspired gastro pub and creperie. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the pub is dog-friendly so your pooches can enjoy it all too!

Tips from a local
Visit Wallington Hall and Gardens near Cambo, just about 15 minutes’ drive from the cottage. This National Trust Property has over 13,000 acres of land to explore. The woodland walk from the hall takes you to a stunning pond and walled garden, with an impressive conservatory greenhouse, and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. Keep an eye out for red squirrels in the woods, and be sure to head back to the Clock Tower Cafe for a homemade soup or locally produced Doddington Dairy ice cream.
