This property is a traditional village home, full of character. It is situated in a central part of Embleton, with a choice of three village pubs serving food, as well as a village shop for everyday essentials, all within 0.5 miles. Embleton’s beautiful sandy bay lies just 1 mile away. The village sits on the coastal route, making it a very central base for exploring Northumberland’s stunning coastline to the north and south, as well as inland to Alnwick and beyond.

Completely renovated and stripped back to bare stone, the cottage has been lovingly restored to its original form, while still offering modern comforts throughout. The entrance hall is ideal for storing shoes and walking gear. On the ground floor, two spacious rooms await – a charming eat-in kitchen and a welcoming lounge. The lounge centres around a wood burner set within an old inglenook fireplace, with plush seating, a Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and a stack of board games for cosy evenings in. The kitchen, with its pastel-painted cabinets and sturdy wooden breakfast table, offers everything needed to prepare hearty meals – perhaps using locally caught fish. From here, access the utility room with laundry facilities and storage, as well as a handy ground-floor WC. Upstairs, discover two beautiful bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed and superb views, while the second offers a versatile zip-and-link bed, which can be made up as a super-king-size or twin on request. Completing this floor, the bathroom features a free-standing Victorian claw-foot bath and underfloor heating for a luxurious touch.

Outside, there is a large, enclosed garden boasting views over the Dene. You can help yourself to apples from the tree in the garden. For al fresco dining, an Ooni pizza oven and BBQ are provided, while a secure shed offers safe bike storage. Private parking is available for two cars and a type 2, untethered EV charger is also available for guest use.

A wonderful cottage - a real home from home, the owners have taken great care to make it welcoming, and it is beautifully decorated. The location is a short walk to the beach, a couple of good pubs in walking distance, and plenty more eating places a short drive away. The parking in the courtyard was tight for us, but plenty of parking on theRead more street. Hide

Really lovely cottage, clean warm and very well stocked with everything that you would need for a stay. Beds were comfortable, we had good nights sleep. The owners left a fabulous welcome pack for both us and our dog, lovely garden for him too. The local pub has a good atmosphere but the food wasnt good and the local hotel had no atmosphere and fooRead mored wasnt great, wouldnt recommend eating at either. A walk to the Ship was much better about a mile or so along the beach. Craster also has a great pub a couple of miles south. Hide

This was our first stay at Lost Lobster Cottage in Embleton and we were not disappointed. The cottage was very welcoming on arrival with a generous doggy welcome pack which was appreciated by our Boston Terrier Colonel Patrick. We appreciated the thoughtful human welcome pack as well thank you. The cottage was very clean and beds and sofas were verRead morey comfy. The garden is lovely and again was appreciated by our little dog. Lost Lobster Cottage is ideally placed in Embleton in a very quiet spot ideal for walks from the door. We enjoyed some tasty meals at both The Greys Inn and Dunstaburgh Castle Inn which are both dog friendly during our stay. The communication from the host prior to our stay was great. We would definitely recommend Lost Lobster Cottage it had everything and more that we required for a relaxing few days in a beautiful area hopefully we will be back one day Hide

Thanks for our 3rd stay at Lost Lobster, with total stays in Embleton now exceeding 20! Lost Lobster is truly a home with every room comfortable and welcoming. Highlights for us are the kitchen and the garden where we spend most of our time when there. Very thoughtful throughout, the owners provide me with the best range of kitchen equipment and waRead moreres that I could hope for. Use of the pizza oven is always part of our trip. The dogs are happy and provision of dog towels a great help. A big thanks as ever for giving us a lovely holiday. Hide

Enjoyed our time at this lovely cottage. Comments regarding tight access road below. Only other comment would be that the bath / shower was quite deep and may have presented a little difficulty to someone with mobility issues.

My husband and I stayed at Lost Lobster Cottage to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The cottage is perfect and so is the location. Welcome pack was fantastic and there is everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cottage was spotless on arrival and very well equipped. The village is beautiful as is Embleton Bay and The Grey's Inn is a greRead moreat pub for a few drinks. We ate at The Potted Lobster Bamburgh, The Jolly Fisherman's Craster and The Joiners Arms High Newton. Great food at all 3 venues, we returned to The Joiners Arms for our last night. Low Newton Beach was amazing as was Barter Books in Alnwick. Great days out at Alnmouth, Craster, Seahouses and all surrounding villages. Our dog loved the garden and the beaches. I know why so many people return to this cottage again and again. Hide
