An impressive, modern cottage, with far-reaching coastal vistas, this Amble holiday home enjoys a truly enviable position. Sleeping six adults and two children, the four-bedroom, three-storey property overlooks Amble Links and captures views out to Coquet Island. Stroll 0.5 miles over to the harbour to book an exciting cruise out to the island, where you can see thousands of puffins, terns and other seabirds. While you are at the harbour, wander the fascinating pod outlets, with their gifts, crafts and local food products. Treat yourselves to fish and chips or an ice-cream, or wander into the town centre with its many shops and eateries. Spend time on the sandy beach at Amble Links, 0.5 miles from the cottage, or head off on a 6-mile circular walk to Warkworth, with its impeccable sandy stretches and historic castle. Plan a day trip to Alnwick, 9.5 miles away, with its famous castle.

Let yourselves in at ground-floor level, where you can hang jackets and leave beach sandals and bags. At this level, you will also find the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and a separate WC. Head through to the airy, south-west-facing kitchen/diner space, which has light cabinets and work surfaces, to unpack the produce you have bought at the harbour and rustle up the next delicious Northumberland feast. Open the French doors to the garden when you gather round the dining table in here on warm days. Make fresh coffee in the machine and carry it over to the lounge area. Choose a place on the plush seating as you discuss your day or pick up the remote control for the Smart TV. There are also toys, games and a Nintendo Switch in here that the younger members of your party will enjoy. Make your way up the stairs to find a second lounge, with another Smart TV, on the first floor. Step out onto the balcony, which has a glass balustrade, to lose yourselves in the incredible sea views. Choose a book from the shelves or listen to music through the Sonos sound bar. Also at this level are an inviting king-size bedroom and a bunk room for children. The family bathroom is also here. Wander up another level to find another beautiful king-size bedroom, this time with an en-suite shower room and wonderful sea views. A twin room, with beds that can be made up as a super-king instead by prior agreement, is also on the second floor, with an en-suite shower room too.

Soak up the sunshine in the south-west-facing garden. Gather round the table on the patio to dine outside or take your book and a glass of something chilled down to the pergola. Watch the youngsters and their pet frolic on the grass. There is private, off-road parking for two cars here, plus extra on-street space, subject to availability.

A wonderful holiday home in a great location, perfect for families to come together. The two lounges create space and options, with so many small touches to make it feel like home. The balcony and first floor lounge are brilliant for watching the world go by. Our stay at Puffin View was amazing and the home one of the best we have stayed in.

Our first visit and, after 40 years of self catering, Puffin View enters our chart in the top five. Very easy to live in, extremely comfortable, beautiful and genuinely secure dog friendly garden, lovely views : many thanks to Sam and James for creating a genuine holiday home.

Excellent accommodation for both adults and children. It was spotlessly clean and is equipped with absolutely everything you need. Location is great and there are lovely views across to the sea from the first floor lounge. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return. The house is spotless and cosy and we spent all of our time there in the room with the glass verandah which was fantastic. The garden was lovely, very well maintained with good quality garden furniture and fully enclosed, perfect for families with children and/or pets! I would recommend the house without hesitation. This is a house that could accommodate two families with two children each, so the space was very luxurious for a party of 3 single adults! When we get together on holiday we like to read, cook, walk on the dunes and potter about at historical sites. So we really appreciated the space, privacy and multiple reading locations offered by having 2 sepaRead morerate living rooms, a balcony, and two different sitting areas in the immaculate garden. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well -equipped and big enough to allow at least 2 people to be doing their own thing without tripping over each other. The local beach was just across the road, and the harbour within a short walk. We managed to get fantastic fresh fish at the harbour, although this was available only on one day out of the week we were there. And there was a profusion of historical sites and coastal walks within a short drive - we could have filled a second week without repeating an outing. We had a great week and would be hapy to go again. Hide
